Kershaw on coming back to Houston

Kershaw on coming back to Houston

  1. Kershaw has a case for being the biggest victim of the cheating. He dominated in G1 in LA and then had that awful G5 start in Houston. Years of falling short in the playoffs and he was changing the narrative until that game. Fuck the Astros forever.

  2. They should never live it down. Hopefully the hall doesn’t even give anyone on that team a chance

  3. I love coming to a thread like this knowing that half of the responses will be sympathetic to Kershaw and the other half will be “AstroFan2017 -45 points”

  4. Robbed. And most of the time this is brought up, you get downvoted to oblivion.

Also I recall Astros fans calling for our 2011 title to be stripped because that one guy did a felony with the easiest password ever. Then 2019 happened and “Lol wrent fweeeeee”

  5. Kershaw is one of those guys that transcends the uniform. Objectively — what happened in 2017 sucks on all fronts.

To have a guy that’s dominated the sport for over a decade have a label that he isn’t elite in the postseason is silly — especially given the circumstances. If they win the WS in 2017, I don’t think it’s called out nearly as much.

  6. Cheating in the most egregious way possible. And stros fans will be like WhY Do TeaMS HaTe Us?!?! Cause you banged trash cans you perverts. Asterisks always.

  7. I don’t blame him. It ruined Kershaw and darvish especially darvish’s reputation.

  8. Screw the trashtros. Kershaw should’ve been facing the Yankees in 2017.

  9. I don’t think he should beat himself up too bad for not beating the Astros when the banging system wasn’t going on. They were still a really good team. I’m sure he wishes he could have kept a cheating team from winning, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out.

  10. You know what will always stick with me when it comes to that? The fact that the creators of the scheme (Beltran and Cora) were allowed to come back to baseball after a year no big deal. Nobody got any lasting punishment from that except former GM Jeff Luhnow and pitcher Mike Fiers. One has seemingly been blacklisted and the other got a leaguewide reputation as snitch.

It was one of the biggest cheating scandals in American sports and it was all brushed aside.

  11. Still bothers me too, just as a baseball fan. How could it not? It doesn’t feel like justice was ever served.

  12. This is why the Astros still get boo’ed. Kershaw isn’t over it and fans shouldn’t be over it. Altuve will be the first player boo’ed at his HOF induction.

  13. Kershaw pitched well in the 2020 World Series and the Dodgers won it all. Hopefully that’s not his only ring but if it is, at least he got one.

  14. Is this the yearly group therapy session for teams who got clapped by Houston in 2017

  15. Fuck you Manfred. Fuck you owners too bc that’s where the money is, and they probably pressured him to not take action.

  16. Overheard the Dodgers clubhouse after Game 5
“He got me,” Clayton Kershaw said of Houston’s win over him. “Those f***ing Astros boomed me.”
Kershaw added, “I don’t like coming here,” repeating it four times.
Kershaw then said he wanted to add the World Series to the list things he wants to win this fall.

  17. There’s a real lesson here. Do not apologize or admit to wrong doing, so many teams got busted they had to throw a lid on the investigation. Astros were the only ones to apologize. I believe the Red Sox got busted in 2017 and the year they won beat the Astros in the Alcs and won the WS. It came out immediately after they won. They got punished just like the Astros but just didn’t address it. Don’t say you’re wrong don’t say you’re sorry you’ll get the opposite of forgiveness they’ll never forget bc you even owned up to it.

  18. Astro’s didn’t just cheat the Dodgers out of the title either. They cheated every team through the playoffs to get to the World Series.

  19. They really should have removed the title from the Astros after the cheating was revealed. Everyone effectively already does anyway – and even die hard Astros fans can’t look back on 2017 with great memories like every other fanbase can do for their championship year.

  20. Kershaw not generating at least one swing and miss on his breaking pitches is still one of the craziest things in baseball imo. Astros had that system down to a T and now we have to suffer through pitchcom.

  21. came to look at all the cry baby comments in this thread

    RENT F R E E and loving it

  22. Astros fans deserve to never see a championship in any sport ever. Fuck that city, fuck everyone on that team.

  23. Overheard in Dodgers locker room after Game 5:

“They got me,” Kershaw said of the Astros’ 6 runs he gave up. “Those f***ing Astros boomed me.”

Kershaw added, “I don’t like coming here.” repeating it four times.

Kershaw then said he wanted to add Houston to the list of cities he avoids.
