  1. Well you go for a pitcher or two but they have to be part of the next season and going forward because let’s be real, Senga is not young, and you don’t know if he’s the new Degrom so you need arms on the field and yes I would treat this as you are building a staff for next season and more, because Senga being injury prone and his age you can’t have him as your “ace” we’ve been down that road way too much.

  2. It's crazy that we lose arguably our ace after just getting him back. Someone slap the heck out of the Baseball Gods for this miserable luck our Mets have. We can only hope they can overcome this news. Having been a fan since the mid 1960's and I can't recall such fragility of pitchers league wide, as we are seeing now. Seaver, Koosman, Gooden et al. could be counted on for 9 innings plus per start. Now, we worry about 100 pitches, Tommy John surgery, and control issues. Analytics has turned the sport upside down. Have no idea how to remedy this mess.😢

  3. Blessing this did not happen next week. We have time, and we get to see how Stearns thinks when these things happen. I would also immediately promote Sproat to AAA and see how he pitches. If he rocks there for a few starts, don’t mess around. Make him a September call up. Cannot grab Snell. He will almost certainly pick up that $38M player option, and for that money, I’d much rather take a crack at Burnes or Fried.

  4. I've seen this type of injuries time and time again wherever it's in baseball, football or basketball where an athlete doesn't even gets touched and all of a sudden goes down grabbing their calf.Honestly I thought he tore his Achilles so it could've been worse.

  5. Jesus, baseball players are so incredibly soft. Non-contact injuries through the roof. Football players laughing at them. Can any of us tell our boss we have a calf strain, get our full pay and miss months of work? What a joke

  6. Look i wish Senga didnt get hurt but we got this far withouth him. Looking forward to getting him healthy next year BUT lets TRADE for a good starter NOW. We are contenders and we need to stay that way.
