Our path to a dynasty diverged dramatically when we had to lose him. I understand the decision then but damn them ramifications are a bitch…
Simple answer is no. Couldn’t afford him under the cap then, can’t afford him under the cap now.

Not at that cap hit, not at that contract length. Even if Calgary retained half, we don’t want an aging Naz by years 5-7 of that contract

Understand why we had to lose him, but I thought he was the piece that made us a cup team and losing him made us not a cup team.

I think it’s common knowledge that he regrets leaving but I can’t blame him for taking the bag.

I know it’s really easy to say this from my couch, but I will never understand players who walk away from a real shot at winning the cup for a couple million bucks. Dude was making plenty enough to retire on and left one of the best rosters of all time for a raise and no playoffs at all.
