Sid Luckman was the first true modern day QB in the NFL, transforming the position forever. Along with being a Hall of Fame QB on that own right. Sid was an accomplished Punter and Defensive Back for the team. If that wasn’t enough, he volunteered as a Merchant Marine during WW2. While he was stationed in the states, he was not permitted to practice with the team and only play in games. That however didn’t matter as he was still a 2 time All Pro and 3-time league leader in passing during his 4-year military service. Like Johnny Morris, Sid is also a Boys & Girls Clubs of America hall of fame member for his Brooklyn work.
