  1. Per the article, the cardinals are performing calculus.

    >>Edman, 29, has not appeared in a game for the Cardinals this season after undergoing offseason wrist surgery and spraining his ankle during his subsequent rehab. The Dodgers have scouted Edman during his rehab, a source said, and concerns about the ankle are part of the club’s calculus.

  2. Might as well. Someone on the roster in this group:

Siani, Donovan, Walker, Gorman, Winn, and Noot are going to not have a spot if Tommy plays.

Plus, with the FO not willing to take on “significant salary in the coming years” it’s clear that they’re going into a rebuild.

  3. I would absolutely hate to lose Edman. I get the arguments to do so, but I’m still going to be upset about it.

  4. I wouldn’t mind mind, if the Cards went out and got a guy like Brent Rooker from the A’s. We have Donovan who can play anywhere, and a few other guys who can be moving pieces when need be. Siani has been a key piece of this team in center, might as well just hang on to Carlson if there’s not an easy upgrade out there to platoon. Trade Gorman for a solid pitcher and try to put yourselves in a position to get hot and win the damn thing

  5. Does he even have any value? Hes been one of my favorites recently, but i don’t see how anyone can justify giving up much when there really isn’t even much guarantee he will be back this year at all, and if so its doubtful that he will be in great form/timing.

I agree there’s maybe not much room for him currently, but still sucks to lose one of our top players at his lowest trade point.

  6. We get Ohtani and Judge. The Yankees and Dodgers split time with Tommy as he becomes the first super fucking utility player in both leagues.

  7. I would much rather move Gorman over Edman. I don’t think he’s ever gonna be anything but a two outcome player, and when he goes cold, he’s a black hole out there. I’d rather keep Edman and Donovan.

  8. Edman won’t be the only player removed from the major league roster. Watch Carlson. I’ve heard they are in talks about moving him.

  9. Mentioned as a reply in this sub already but if the Yankees and Dodgers are knocking on the door, he’s as good as gone

  10. Trade Helsley, Edman, Donovan, and Gorman please. See if we can unload Goldy as part of the deal.

  11. Dodgers have been hit with the injury bug this year so they trade for an infielder with injury concerns. Makes sense
