Knick fans living rent free in Embiid’s mind

I had a good laugh after hearing the French crowd boo Embiid yesterday and then I happen to see his comments from a few weeks earlier when asked about the possibility of being booed by the French. Congrats everyone, we are living rent free in Embiid’s mind.

  1. Bitch ass bitch. In the immortal words of Olympic legend snoop dog: ‘If a bitch can’t swim she  bound to drizown’

  2. Sounded like a compliment to me lmao . Teams should hate taking the trip New York in the playoffs and feeling the pressure as soon as they hit the state

  3. Now you know instead of throwing games to get our match up it should be to avoid us, lesson learned.

  4. For one, this whole “living rent free” trope needs to die. It’s lame af and often misused.

In this case, even if the fans are living “rent free” in his head, if anything he’s complimenting how raucous the Garden was.

  5. Yup just went on YouTube and rewatched the Sidetalk video “Phuck Philly”… pure gold

  6. Usually people “embrace” the boos if they’ve earned them as a worthy adversary. You get booed because you’re a man of little character.

  7. The irony is it was only bad because he was a dirty ass player. If he just played hard and clean he wouldn’t be looked at that way

  8. do you guys not have any reading comprehension? this sounds like a compliment to us, he’s saying that the MSG crowd was the loudest it’s been to him

  9. This asshole tries to hurt other players, and has no respect for ordinary working people. Fuck his opinions.

  10. Knicks fans also traveled to there arena so I’m sure that’s in his mind of persistent and hostility.

  11. Embiid is the NBA’s A-Rod.

Lightning rod of controversy who gives weird quotes during interviews, does unnecessary things on the court/field, desperately needed to be liked/appreciated, never felt like he got the true respect of a GOAT because of course he wasn’t one, sucked in the playoffs.

The thought sprung to my mind when I first heard Embiid’s quote about the older players on Team USA and complaining about how he would be in the GOAT conversation if not for all the injuries. I remember thinking, “What a weird thing to give a quote about right before you’re about to go play with these guys, many of whom look for any reason to get a personal edge.”

Then, I remembered A-Rod giving a similar quote about Derek Jeter back in the day about how he didn’t think Jeter was in the same league as him in terms of talent. Jeter and Rodriguez were good friends at the time but Jeter hated him after that. And people thought the same thing as I did about the Embiid quote: why would you say something like that to a journalist?

He’s just a weird guy, same as A-Rod. He can’t help but do and say weird things, like his brain can’t catch up to his mouth or body. All of the same things would happen to A-Rod (slapping the ball out of the pitchers glove in the ’04 ALCS, yelling to distract a player from catching a fly ball, etc.), and he would be shocked when people continually voted him as the least liked player in the MLB.
