Miguel Vargas Appreciation Post

He had an up and down tenure in the majors with us, but I enjoyed watching him.

I think the thing I’ll remember most was him contributing to the Peralta walk off on Jackie Day last year.

  1. Outtie getting on base and then Vargy hitting a double. Peralta walking up to La Chona and walking off the Cubs on Jackie Robinson Day.

    Pure Cinema.

  2. I had high hopes for him and it’s a shame his defense was so bad that we couldn’t give him a better shot. Good luck on the south side Vargy 🫡

  3. Going from a WS contender to one of the worst in modern baseball is fucking tough.

But he well be missed and I just fucking know he’s gonna be an All-Star down the road, dude’s got a good eye and a hell of an arm and he’s young.

  4. farewell miggy! i hope you get to be a day to day player with the sox, you deserve it!

  5. I really was looking forward to seeing him progress with us. I thought for a minute Pages or Outman would get traded but I thought Varges having Boras as an agent was not good. Anyways, wish you the best.

  6. Damn, I get why he went but I wish he went to a better org than the Sox. He’s a young kid with a lot of raw talent. It’s not like they have a great reputation for developing players. I hope we hear great things from him in the next few years. Farewell Vargy!

  7. What I love the most is he didn’t make a mistake when he got a 2nd chance probably was humbled and just went back to what got em here in the first place

  8. One of the worst days in my baseball life.

Followed him throughout his entire minor league career believing he’d be a star for us one day. Bro is gonna be a stud for years to come in Chicago.

  9. Saw his 2 run home run live against the Brewers that helped us get back into the game and win it in the end. Wish him nothing but the best

  10. Michael kopech BETTER be a good pitcher for us because I am NOT HAPPY about giving up Vargas for a pitcher who isn’t historically all that great. I know he wasn’t the greatest player in the world but he had all the potential to be.

  11. Honestly sad to see him go. Seems like a really good dude with a very good hit tool and good discipline.

It’s too bad he couldn’t figure out the defense part.

Goodluck Vargas! Sorry you are on such a shit team now

  12. Loved his presence/poise at the plate this year, feels like with his approach its just a matter of time before he takes off. Will get plenty of opportunities with the White Sox, I’m sure
