  1. Been waiting to make this video for a while, let's talk about these two studs! What are YOUR thoughts on the Michkov vs Demidov debate? And which player do YOU see having the best NHL career? Let me know! #GravGang

  2. Let me do mine.

    Offense of Demidov:

Floor = 60-80 point top 6 winger. Middle ground = 75-95 point elite winger. Celling = 100-125+ point superstar winger.

Offense of Michkov: Floor: 30+ goal 55-70 point goal scoring top 6 winger. Middle ground: 40+ goal 70-90 point PP Cornerstone elite winger. Celling: 50-70 goal 100+ point winger.

Michkov has better offense with his ability to score goals using that shot which will give him better numbers with the PP. So Michkov wins there. However. Michkov is a 5'9 170 lbs guy with low defensive effort. You have higher risk of injury and probably just less 5 on 5 production and playoff production. Demidov wont be no Slafkovsky but will be able to hold his own with a great frame at 6'1 200 lbs. You also get more defensive effort from Demidov.

  3. Great video.
I do think Demidov is better defensively tho, very few goals were scored against SKA when he was on the ice. Also I think that we can pretty safely project, that 6'0",192 lbs player(Demidov) will be more physical than 5'10",176 lbs (Michkov).
As to to their potential imo Michkov has slightly better pure offensive potential, but to me he is more boom or bust, as i cannot see him being useful with his size and playstyle if he cannot be a goal scorer.

  4. Dating in a pandemic is like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded-you're not sure where you're going, but at least you're wearing pajamas👄

  5. Solid video as always ! I would reall like to see ivan play in the KHL next season and see how he stacks up against pro players . Then recap this video for a better comparison.

  6. As a flyers fan I’m bias with Michkov. I did how ever really want Danny to try and move up to grab Demidov. I agree Ivan has greater offensive potential upside.

  7. As a habs fan, I also think Michkov has the edge talentwise. However, he apparently didn't want to play for Montreal so taking him could have f*** his development. I am happy with Demidov and can't wait to see what he has to offer on NHL level. Both exceptional players, but I just want both players to play their games without having that Demidov vs Michkov debate over the next few years.

  8. If Demidov can prove he can play with the big boys we can have this conversation more realistically. Michkov may be a year older but hes got 2 years playing against men to Demidovs 0. So Demidov is a year behind Michkov's development. Put Matvei in the MHL this year and the argument about Demidovs hands being so much better would be non-existent. Demidov no doubt is a great player and I'm not saying there's no chance hes better than Michkov, but people out here acting like the MHL is good competition. He played the entire season against scrubs.

  9. The answer is actually really complicated. The normie answer is michkov. That's not necessarily wrong either. But there are caveats to that. Michkov imo is all around a more talented player than even Bedard, who I think is a bit overrated. Michkovs game is very cerebral and very individually skilled driven. He plays hero hockey and is quite effective at it. He might be the most individually talented player I've seen since McDavid.

With all that said, here is the case for demidov. Demidov is a much more hard working player. This extends to his own end where he actually puts in effort. He'll never be a selke candidate but with the determination in his game, he'll be fine all around and more coach friendly especially come playoff time. Demidov does not have the goal scoring capabilities of michkov but is still very dynamic and a good goal scorer. He's a better playmaker and the skill he has that far surpasses michkov is his hands. They are the best I've seen in a while. He also utilizes his teammates so well and plays way better off puck in the o zone.

So again the answer is michkov but demidov will be more team friendly and has a much more translatable game to the NHL. Michkov, imo, will have to change his game to adapt to the NHL. He will be successful in that but it still has to be done.

Overall, the gap isn't big enough offensively to overlook all the red flags michkov has. Demidov is a coaches dream. Michkov is a coaches nightmare. But that nightmare is so Uber talented that you just have to put up with his overall game

  10. This guy’s scouting is very odd. A lot of what he says is actually counter what actual legit scouts and prospect experts have said about these two players. Graviteh is also the guy who said Hage’s skating was a weakness when it’s literally his greatest strength. Also, this was kind of a pointless video. We know that because the bro had to repeatedly clarify that they’re different ages and have played with pros and not. What a strange late July dead of summer click-baitey video.

  11. Nathan,I like you,but can you pay less heed to freaking russian players which are feeling in North America like at home ? Do you know that in their daydreams russians see America in radioactive ashes ? Do you realize they unleashed war not only against Ukraine, but entire western world ? They are ENEMIES ! Ignore them as if they never existed !

  12. Not one has played an NHL game. We will see in 5 years! I wish Habs would have pick both, but word is, Michkov would not play in Montreal… Or maybe Bobrov heard too many negatives things about Michkov.

  13. Time will tell but as a Habs fan I’m quite happy drafting a play driving 6’ 190lb skilled player that is excited to play in Montreal and welcomes the pressure, already speaks English over …

Mitchkov which gives me diva vibes, tanked interviews with the bottom 5 teams, choosy on where he got drafted, doesn’t care to learn English, is more of a finisher which means he’s only as good as the pass coming his way.

Considering the Habs had eyes on both Mitchkov and Demidov through Bobrov’s dad in Russia and chose to pass on him, adding in the way habs have been drafting and the culture they are cultivating, I think Character could have been a reason why Habs didn’t take Mitchkov.

Also quite happy having drafted Reinbacher, he could be a stud certainly a top 4 RD prospect if not top pair.

Philly is screwed and Tortorella won’t hand hold a diva…

    ,
Habs are building a wagon and Mitchkov may come to regret not wanting to be drafted by Montreal.

  14. Tough call, Grav. I'd say "flip a coin". I'm a Habs fan who really liked/likes Michkov. I commented on a pre-draft video you did where I was concerned about Demidov, primarily due to his injury history. I think it's directly related to that 10-2 skating style he uses. Leaves the legs vulnerable. He has to learn how to protect the legs better while using it. For example, Crosby uses it a lot. But it hasn't led to big problems for him injury-wise. I love Michkov. But now that I've learned more about Demidov as the kind of character he has, I think it will truly be a flip of a coin. There has to be some fire to the smoke that Michkov has some attitude issues. We'll find out soon, I guess!
