  1. Place: 1st

    Division lead: 5.5 **

    Games to play: 56

    Division magic number: 52

    Playoffs magic number: 50

First round bye magic number: 49*

    Current pace: 98-64

*This number assumes a division win and playoff berth. The bye magic number is the division magic number otherwise.

**Division lead and magic number assume the Mets hold out for the win tonight

  2. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:

LANE THOMAS! He will join Cleveland and wear #8 (No one saw me say something different earlier… GuardsInsider whyyy)

ISSA BIBE! Resident Ace Tanner Bibee gives us a *beautiful* quality start, going 6+IP, 7H, 2R, 0BB, and 2K on 95 pitches. Innings have been successfully eaten, what a beautiful man.

Offense is powered by… well, POWER! The offense gets 8 runs off of 9 hits, 1 walk, and 1 HBP. 🐐 continues to be a legend, going 3/4 with a double, two home runs, and three RBI, while 🏹 launches a three run home run way into the seats. 💨 goes 2/4 with two slaps and 😇 hits a double.

The arms have a lot to work with tonight, with Avila(1.1IP), Barlow(0.2IP), and Gaddis(1IP, 2R) combining to go 3IP, 1H, 2R, 5BB, and 1K. *Damn team Twitter graphic out here cursing Gaddy Daddy.*

Columbus had a bit of a slap hitting fest yesterday, getting 10 runs off of 13 hits, 3 walks, 4 stolen bases, and a Manzo HBP. There was only a trio of XBHs, a Brito double and Arias and Dom Nunez each hitting a home run. Everybody in the lineup got on base, with everybody getting a hit but Manzo. Logan Allen had a decent start, going 5IP, 2H, 2R, 2BB, and 0K on 87 pitches.

  3. Great win and trade this evening. Lane Thomas is a very solid MLB player. He fits in well with this team at centerfield and will be great hitting second in the lineup. I like this move. Hopefully one or two pitchers are on the way.

  4. Discussion time: of our four division rivals (CWS, DET, KC, and MIN), who do you think is the most tolerable?

  5. Very good night for the bullpen to not have it. Got a Barlow heart attack out of the way and a rare Gaddis bad performance out of his system

Jose Ramirez. Bo Naylor. Fuck it, Lane Thomas

    Is this called being back?

  6. Mets are beating the Twins 11-1 and Guards smash the Motor City Kitties – what a great night. Go Guards!

  7. Bullpen pitched like hot garbage but they held it together. I’d much rather they save their very rare blowup for a blowout.

  8. *OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO*

🎶 *We don’t give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, the whole state of Michigan, the whole state of Michigan, we don’t give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, CAUSE WE’RE FROM O-HI-O* 🎶

  9. If you’d told me on opening day that

    1. Bieber will make two starts and then have TJ surgery.

    2. Gavin’s injury lingers so long that he doesn’t pitch until July.

    3. McKenzie and Allen are both so bad that they get demoted to AAA

I would’ve told you they’re going to be the worst team in baseball.

They’re not the worst team in baseball. What they’ve accomplished to this point has been remarkable.

  10. Might be the first time I can remember Kwan taking an 0-5.

They got the win so that’s good.

  11. I like when thebCleveland Guardians win baseball games. It is very fun. Whenever it happens, I say “yes.”

  12. Things that are so back:

The Guards after being a little silly lately: ✅️

My dad after running to get some smokes: ❌️

  13. A little rough from the bullpen yeah, Avila wasn’t as solid as normal and started in a bad spot. Gaddis, I’m assuming he was tired but it was only two, and what a great day for him to get his monthly allowed runs out of the way

  14. 15-1 Mets over Twins in the top of the 8th. I know the Twins aren’t worth the mental energy, but that is beautiful.
