  1. You have to give huge props to our first year manager, Pat Murphy. If he doesn't get Manager of the Year then there is seriously something wrong with Baseball! Craig Counsell-out was a decent player, then manager, but his exit was not well received, obviously. Pat Murphy came into a team that was given little chance to even break .500. I was one of those people who thought the Brewers wouldn't even get 70 wins. I WAS SO WRONG! Pat Murphy has had more adversity, injuries both short term and long term. A line-up of extremely young players. Yet he has been fantastic with every aspect of it. Basically he doesn't ever see injuries as an adversity, but more as a potential for someone else to step up and show what he has. Our defense has improved more than anything I've ever seen before! Highlight reel catches, homerun stealing grabs, diving catches, leaping grabs, pinpoint accurate throws, and excellent decision-making in every aspect of the game. They have been absolutely amazing to watch. We've seen players actually hit .300+ again, our base stealing has been absolutely amazing as well. While we aren't a Harvey's Wallbangers type team power wise, our batting average RISP(Runners in Scoring Position) has been very successful as well. Our pitching? Wow. Injuries everywhere, both starters and relief pitchers, AND our closer too. Our Ace Brandon Woodruff we knew would be out for most of if not all of the year, but so many of the starters we signed, out. It's been like a M*A*S*H unit in the bullpen. But again even with ALL of these problems, issues, dilemmas Pat Murphy has led this team to a 61-45 record, 1st Place in the division. Are they perfect? No, but they are extremely dangerous at times, and if they can get somewhat healthy over the last couple of months they could be even more dangerous. Sorry for the long comment, but Pat Murphy deserves major attention, respect, and he definitely deserves to win the Manager of the Year award!
