There aren’t a lot of vets in the locker room. even tho he was a FA, he was a leader for this team. This the downside of flipping guys like him. Or letting Votto walk. it’s the right decision… but you lose a lot on the way
I get it. But we would not get rid of veterans if we were actually winning.
Frankie was also emotional and talked about how much he loved this team. The trade makes sense but it’s also important to remember the human side of things. His results weren’t great but he seemed like a real positive influence on a young pitching staff that made great improvements this year.
