France got away with some cheap fouls there at the end. Really not impressing. Was hoping for some competitive games where someone could challenge the US but so far it’s definitely not France.
Disappointing. Kawamura definitely shot them out at the end but France didn’t deserve to go to overtime. Japan were robbed.
I’m gonna be hating on every France game for the rest of the tournament now. Can’t explain how frustrated I am for a team I have no affiliation with

The 4 pt play – That was a very light touch on the hip at best. There’d be a lot more fouls called if that’s the standard for a foul. The French player didn’t appear to be hindered at all or call for a foul. But agree it was dumb for Kawamura put himself in that position to potentially foul at all – should have just let him shoot it without contesting.
What a shame – he carried the Japan team with some big plays on both ends after Rui got rejected. 6 boards at 5″8 is some effort and he was all over the court, albeit with a bit too much hero ball (but Japan wasn’t exactly overflowing with shot creating talent – Watanabe was quiet).
Also shoutout to Hawkinson for a massive effort inside against Gobert and Wemby. Thumbs down to Rui for a ridiculous foul after already having one unsportsmanlike foul.
Vincent Collet is a fucking disgrace. Playing against a team who doesn’t have a single position with a height advantage and all we do is shoot thees. We have one of the best players in the world and we barely give him the ball, instead we get the ball to Rudy in the spots where Victor should get it when he can’t even dribble. De Colo has been completely washed for 3 years now and he still plays him above Cordinier who is better at literally every single aspect of the game. Still hasn’t decided on a starting five after 5 preparation games. Took him until 5min left in regulation to figure out that Strazel is our best PG when it’s been obvious to everyone else for more than a year.
We had to get bailed out by a stupid foul (and questionable call) against one of the worst teams of the tournament. Just pathetic. He should’ve been fired 5 years ago, he’s an absolute shit coach who shouldn’t even be trusted with a high school team. I am beyond pissed off (in case you couldn’t tell).
