1. What’s the point of having preseason games where the starters get zero reps? Just risking injuries to depth pieces. All a money grab. SAD.

8. Both players the Cubs got are Rule 5 eligible. The Closer tho has a 2.80 era across 2A and 3A this year so. Likely coming to the roster soon. Cubs gotta spend prospects and make more man. They can easily do that. Jhoan Duran the best Closer in the game was available long term. Alcantara is sitting on your 40man years away. Top 40 prospect so can get you a Big Time player long term. They have serious holes at Catcher as well. Amaya is a good backup. Should of got their long term Catcher if possible. Now we need them to add Pete Alonso, A Legit Closer, Catcher, and a few more bullpen arms all in Free Agency. Felt we could fix part now.

9. I’m shocked Cubs didn’t trade Neris to Houston or Red Sox or other contenders. That’s a shame. He could’ve gotten a decent prospect or 2. Nico should’ve been traded if you were aggressive. There’s another 3 Nico’s down in the minors. He is who he is now and in the future. GG’er with good contact and limited power.

14. I’m actually relieved Caleb isn’t playing for 2 reasons.

    1. It’s pointless to play him. Higher risk of injury and preseason is mainly meant to evaluate fringe players and backups anyway.

    2. I have to miss the game due to work and I don’t want to miss out on seeing him play.

15. They should have played Caleb. It’s a mistake because he is a rookie and he need all the reps available before the season starts. It was a soft decision. Take that spackles!! Love ESPN 100 great and funny content

17. I say let him play one drive get a feel of the game, keep it simple like quick passes and handing the ball off, but I don’t disagree with not playing him either I would of been happy with either choice
