Between this and the Danielle Hunter situation Ballard tried to make some big moves, and it just makes it more crucial that Latu turns out to be the silver lining to both of these moves not working out. I’d imagine Bowers was the target for the trade
It worked out better in the end. Latu is going to be a destroyer of worlds.
MHJ was the dream but just as happy with AD as I would have been with Nabers.

I’d be really curious to know if they still would have made this offer if they had known they would get first pick of all defensive players in the draft at 15.
I’m as high on AD as the next guy, but I’ll also be curious to see how he stacks up against Nabers and Odunze over the next few years. Those guys seem like more sure things, but I gotta think AD’s ceiling could be as high.
Interesting to see they tried to move up.
There was almost no chance of finding a team willing to move back that far without including another 1st. Not shocked the Giants turned it down
I’d honestly rather have Latu and AD Mitchell than Nabors. I think Nabors will be good but we get a potential break out as a pass rusher and what could be a really good receiver in the second.
Offering 15 and two 2s for 6 is not a serious offer. Any team with a halfway competent GM is hanging up immediately on that big of a low ball.
The fact that we got AD (and at 52 overall at that) really softens the blow of learning this. We got the best defender in the draft and one of the top WRs in the draft without giving anything up.
Nabers would have been so awesome to pair with AR. MHJ gets all the buzz, and deservingly so, but Nabers is an elite Chase level prospect in his own right. Glad we still landed a stud in Latu since we werent able to pull the trade off.
