It hurts so much…

  1. Tonight wasn’t as bad as the first two. The Padres chipped away pretty early. It was 5-3 for most of the game. The first two were total meltdowns in the last inning or last few innings.

  2. Every year we excel April-September and falter in October. Maybe this year we’ll suck more in the former, just to be better in the latter.

    Wishful thinking.

  3. 75% or whatever of the team is injured. Most of those injuries being in pitchers. I its rough out here

  4. Watch the Dodgers lose home field advantage to the Phillies for the LCS by *one game* and it would be because of one of these losses.

And in that Game 7, Dodgers blow a five-run lead in the 9th.

  5. How many times does this team needs to blow? My gardener blows less leaves than this team

  6. This just means our August is gonna go crazy like it seemingly always does. I remember us being awful right around the trade deadline last year

  7. We’ll get a closer… right? …….right?

I’m jk. The Bruiser will be back soon. I ain’t stressin 😎

  8. We are as unclutch as it gets. Not holding my breath for playoffs at this rate

  9. Maybe score after the 1st inning, including with a guy on 2nd and no outs.

It would hurt a lot more in October. They have two months to fix this.

  10. At minimum, the source of the problem is easily identifiable. We’ve hit in the clutch before but clutch isn’t a stat. It happens sometimes and it doesn’t. Sometimes a .260 batting average converts, and sometimes it doesn’t.

What actually did us in was the bullpen. Treinen should not have closed under any circumstances. Our bullpen is stretched because Wrobleski, Ryan, and Knack all were lucky to get past five innings. We can’t keep bringing out Vesia, Banda, Hudson, and Treinen out. Treinen clearly is tired and I hate to say it, but Dave I don’t think is using the reinforcements enough.

  11. Bro, it’s simple. The whole “the Dodgers are going to win the division, we’re just waiting til October” thing? “World Series or bust”?

That is tempting the baseball gods if I’ve ever heard it.

It’s still a fucking sport. Nobody is entitled to shit. Nothing is ever guaranteed. The Eli Manning Giants handed the undefeated Tom Brady Patriots their only loss in 2007, in the fucking Super Bowl.

The level of arrogance I’ve been hearing all year… the baseball gods are coming home to roost now.
