  1. Called it on the 1 year, give him what he’s worth, show me/prove yourself deal that keeps hin here and capable of negotiating a longer contract next off-season, or be used as a trade piece during this season.

  2. 11 million seems a little too much for Luke, but since its a 1 year deal that gives us a lot of flexibility going into next year’s trade deadline. By trading him and Konchar’s contracts we can take back more than 20 milion in salary and still be bellow the first apron.

  3. Must have been an agreement in place from the beginning. Seems like his market value is around vet minimum right now.

    Either way, I wish they had not brought him back. He will be better at the start of the year, but I think by the end of the year the younger players would be better if they had playing time. And they may not get that playing time with him on the team.

  4. Very tradeable contract. I’m surprised he did not want to come on for 2-3 years vs 1. That said I hope he’s on the roster in June for the finals
