  1. The failure of this front office to find anyone to eliminate Monasterio at bats is evident. Any replacement level bat would’ve been a big pick up. It’s shocking he’s still on a big league roster let alone a first place team

  2. 4th straight home series loss. 4/11 games since the break the offense has scored more than 3 runs. Bullpen is exhausted and injured. The team hasn’t looked encouraging at all and look like they are heading in the wrong direction. Only 2 games under .500 in July which is surprising because it feels worse but some close ass wins saved us from a truly awful month. Not hitting the panic button yet because a 5 game lead is still solid but there is plenty of big red flags and if the lead gets within 3 is when the button might go off.

  3. Another series loss. At least this one was to a playoff team and not the worst team in the NL, but man.

I’ve been saying it for most of the season, but it’s really hard to have any confidence that this team will win more than a game in the playoffs. Our offense is inconsistent, and when it’s bad they are borderline nonexistent.

  4. Embarrassing home stand. They gotta pick up momentum quick with the next stretch of games.

    * I know losing Yelich is tough, but Murphy needs to pick a lineup and stick with it. Absolutely no reason why the top 4 shouldn’t be Chourio, Contreras, Adames, and Hoskins every single game right now. Throw Bauers in if Hoskins isn’t playing.
    * Frelick’s streaks and slumps are almost comical at this point. Perkins should be in for him right now until Frelick gets back into another crazy groove like he’s already done multiple times this year.
    * Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I really miss Oliver Dunn. I’m tired of the Monasterio show.
    * I try not to be overly vindictive with certain players and keep an open mind about everyone, but man am I gonna be happy if/when Peguero gets optioned to Nashville.

  5. Thing good thoughts, y’all. We’ll get back on the horse. Have a fun and safe off day everyone. 💙💛

  6. July is gross and won’t be missed. At least I got free pizza at work.

  7. It’s way too early to panic, but this season is starting to feel like 2022. All the young guys we were riding high on are sputtering, the pitching staff is looking far less invincible, and feel the vibes have nose dived.

Oh yeah and the fucking Cards are right on our tail again.

  8. Turang is slashing .130/.189/.130 in his last 75 plate appearances. Monasterio is literally better than him right now, and that is not because Monasterio is playing well. Really, REALLY could have used a utility man at the deadline.

Murphy using Peguero was mindblowingly stupid, a decision no intelligent person would have possibly made especially when the most recent failure in this situation was one week ago and extremely pathetic and embarrassing and also very predictable, as he has been horrific with inherited runners all year.

Pulling Perkins mid-game was the icing on the cake. Murph genuinely must have a personal gripe with the guy, because he was easily our best player today and is (by the numbers, this is not even my opinion) one of the best center fielders in baseball. Sal Frelick gets to start every single day and he has hit 3 balls above 90mph in the last 10 days.

Going to cash out my Brewers division champs bet right now before the odds fall tonight. This team is not great, Murphy is not a great manager (he’s fine maybe he’ll become great later whatever), and losses like this really hurt when you’re in tight races for the NL bye *and* the division. This hurts and Murph made it worse and I really don’t know how you can watch the July Brewers and not add a single above-average major leaguer. Mears could be shrewd, Civale/Montas will fill up innings I guess, but this team could REALLY use some help right now.

  9. I said two months ago that they would only be able to hold onto their lead in the division if they made major moves to shore up the starting pitching. The bullpen has been excellent, but you can’t ask them for 4-5 innings every night and expect that to last until September. Since then, they’ve lost their best starting pitcher for the season and added a couple starters who can also give you 4-5 mediocre innings a night, while seeing the injuries to the overtaxed bullpen pile up.

I didn’t necessarily think they *should* have cashed their chips in for this season, but this was always going to be the result if they didn’t.
