  1. Pistons have been a mess for Years. Not going to fix the mess in one off season. But after this season, they need to determine who is really worth keeping and fit together.

  2. I don't think he understands the importance of coaching to defense and development. He named Chaucey Billups as an example. Billups was not known as a good defender coming to Detroit. As a matter fact when the Pistons signed him it was perceived as meh move. Nobody thought Billups was going to become the All NBA/Defensive Guard. He was failed top draft pick that had been traded around league for years. Found a little success in his 6th year and the Pistons took a chance on him. Some though he was overpaid at the time. RIP didn't come here as a good team defender either but Larry Brown demanded it of all the players. Larry Brown developed Hamilton and Chauncey into the great backcourt they became. These players don't have to be good individual defenders they need to be good team defenders with effort. That comes from good coaching which the Pistons have lacked for last couple of years. I do believe Duren takes a jump in his defense this year because JB will demand it and knows how to develop and pull that skill out of him because the tools are there. What and see.

  3. Ku, I’m an old guy and as much as I’d love to see D, you hit the nail on the head-they just don’t have the players. What they have are a bunch of youth with freak athleticism. They need to play fast. Just push and be relentless attacking the basket from every direction.

  4. Pistons 5 year win average is less than 19. Getting worse and worse during that stretch. What SHOULD we call them? Ku explains how this roster can't be good defensively. Then he touts the offensive core. But this core has NO serious floor spacers. Pistons did acquired average-at-best floor spacers. We DID have Bojan and supposed free agent spacers prior seasons. I' ll believe this roster can function beyond "mess" mode when I see it.

  5. 24 players from last year’s team are gone. New President. New Coaches. 4 new vets from playoff team rotations. Next year will be a VERY different team. We simply don’t know how bad they will be.

  6. The anon is clearly wrong because he believes the Pistons haven’t been trying to rebuild. Dude, they deliberately tore it down to nothing and went after multiple top 5 picks. Last year was a mess. Clearly. This year? It looks nothing like last year.

  7. Leave it up to Ku Khahil to challenge Trajan (NBA GM) on his stance that defense is more will than skill

Duren is a natural shot blocker spanning back from Memphis Monty and terrible schemes were the problem leaving Duren out to dry same reason he fell out with D Ayton

Ivey Cade Duren are capable of being good defenders under the right coach, Monty purposely tried to lose games, Bickerstaff wants to win

  8. out moral around the league is so bad that i think we’re done as far as acquiring players goes. Missed on Buddy, probably Tyus Jones. I think Trajan didn’t know how bad of a moral this organization has.

  9. They can use that as fuel for fire to have a good season. Or they can fall into the trap of closed thinking and fail. I wonder who these executives are they probably from New York they some haters.

  10. our only hope is that Cade Ivey Ausar Holland Duren some day becomes one of the best lineups in the league. Trading for Lauri and Kesler would take Ivey, Duren, Ausar and like 5 first round picks.

  11. I agree 100%! I don’t know why anyone is mad about this anonymous persons comment. It’s a fact the pistons have been horrendous the last decade.

  12. Jordan would make the Pistons a contender more so than Lebron. Jordan is the greatest bucket of all time and one of the greatest defenders of all time.

  13. I belive Ron Holland was a controversial pick, i like the kid but i dont think he was the right fit, I watched him play and i honestly wasnt impressed like i was when i first saw Asuar and Ivey.
