Love this signing. That's quite a deal for somebody that just signed after getting drafted. SP was surely needed. If they can bring up Jake Bloss as well then the pitching rotation will be better next season. With Tiedemann out, we needed more pitching prospects.

The Jays drafting has been poor. Jays seem to have so many "prospects" but few players make the Jays or even the MLB.
They signed number 1 pick just over 4.1 million dollars.
Great they got the top draft pick signed. Now they need to continue to tank so they can hopefully get that top lottery draft pick next year. My question is how many of these guys are they going to give up in a trade for the catcher next year.

So by my math that signing puts them more than 10% over there allotted money for signings. Doesn’t that mean they could lose their one and two pick in next years draft and pay 100% tax on the money they went over? Am I wrong?
