Could parking really that bad on Saturday?

Saturday will be my final night game and my kids’ only night game and fireworks night at the Coliseum. Got this email earlier about dual event parking and how they’re going to jack it $40. I’m ok paying it since I feel a bit safer in the lot than taking Bart from Dublin, and the cost is about the same for 5 of us. Tickets to the 7pm Monster Jam are less than halfway sold so it’s not looking like it’ll be a huge crowd like the old days. warrior games. Just curious what others think about this. Dodgers and Ohtani in town so it’ll be a larger than usual crowd at the game.

  1. I’ve been to many packed A’s games, including events where they also have something at Oracle and the only time I’ve seen the lot totally packed was for a motocross event. It was like nothing else, I had to park in a random industrial area and walk through a super sketchy route to get back to the car. Monster Jam is the next closest thing, if I were you I would take Bart 100%. Just my experience though.

  2. I honestly really doubt that you won’t find parking in the lot, especially if you get there early enough.

  3. Parking will be wild thats for sure. Monster Jam itself already attracts tons of families. Add the Dodgers coming into Town on a Fireworks night, that’ll make it even more intense.

A few weeks ago Aventura came to Oracle Arena while the A’s were playing against the Astros I believe? Parking wasn’t that bad but it was definitely almost full. I went to the A’s game that day. I can’t imagine the Combo of Dodgers coming into town and Monster Jam.

Edit: Just checked Monster Jam starts at 7. Whereas the A’s starts at 6:07.

  4. If you get there early enough like before stadium gates open you will be fine. Otherwise it can get crazy and it will suck. Imo you’re better off parking at San Leandro bart and taking the train one stop or parking in the coliseum Bart lot if you get there early enough too.

  5. There is also a tailgate starting at 3:30. People are gonna get there early and take up multiple spots for their tents, grills, chairs, etc. BART is your best bet.

  6. Frick Sunday too. And yeah it’ll be bad. Thankfully I bought a parking pass when I got tickets too. Don’t expect to be able to buy one at the gate.
