  1. **Erik Karlsson** is maybe the weakest candidate and maybe not a lock? His lack of any sort of playoff success is what stands out to me, not the stanley cup part.

  2. All standard except Vasi. If the implication is that he could retire today and still make it, the only post-expansion goalies in the Hall with fewer games played than his 477 would be Ken Dryden (397) and Gerry Cheevers (418). I dunno, he’s still probably in as a lock despite that, but it’s at least somewhat questionable. I don’t know if there’s really a games played quota, but can’t imagine he’s far off from whatever that is to be guaranteed given everything else he’s done.

  3. Came to be pissed that one of the big 4 lightning would be snubbed but alas I was wrong. Good!

  4. Bob has 2 Vezinas and a Stanley Cup Championship. He’ll cross over the 400 win line within the first week or two of the upcoming season.

There can’t possibly be a goalie out there with that resume that isn’t in the HOF.

  5. I’ll save you a click.

    Crosby

    Ovechkin

    Malkin

    Patrick Kane

    Mcdavid

    Stamkos

    Kucherov

    Kopitar

    Doughty

    Hedman

    Karlsson

    Fleury

    Vasi

  6. I really wish Nicklas Backstrom didn’t have his hip problems. He’s missed a lot of game over the past 3 seasons and more than likely won’t play again.

  7. Fleury will get in, but he probably shouldn’t.

Over 20 years he has 67.2 goals saved above average. Take out his 2 outliers from Vegas, and he has 27.2 over 18 years.

In the playoffs, for his career, he is -23.9 goals saved above average. Yes, an average goalie would have saved 24 more goals than MAF. His time in Pittsburgh he was -28.3.

To sum it up, MAF was a career average goalie who had the fortune of playing on good teams.

  8. I know he isn’t active, but since we are here, is Jonathan Toews a lock? I know he fell off hard with injuries and illness, but man, those 7, 8ish seasons, he was one of the best captains on the ice.

  9. Letang? He has had a pretty good career right? I just kind of assumed the three cups put him in.
