  1. I think what has changed is his chances to be offered a contract for the 2025 season and beyond has increased in the last few days. Obviously it will depend on RWs play this year as I don't see the Steelers having both on the team next off season considering they will both want to be paid large contracts.

  2. Any person that actually keeps up with Steelers media knows that Dulac is entirely out of the loop and not clued into anything related to the organization. Sometimes I think the Steelers and Tomlin just feed him stuff to get him to go away.

  3. This dude knows nothing about JF. He also doesn’t understand the sled had nothing to do with it. Russ is old and this could’ve happened during the game.

  4. All these other media guys are doing damage control except this guy…he’s still sticking to the script. But I’ll say this about the obvious QB competition straight from the horses mouth that “The Steelers are gonna create an environment for both guys to compete”…I’d say there’s more to the story why Tomlin is holding Russ back. Steelers 1st preseason game is next Friday…Pay attention who gets 1st team snaps tonight at practice will likely determine who has the lead and will get the start next week.

  5. the fact that Russ is healthy and Mike Tomlin is purposely sitting him tells me this isn't a real competition at all and Russ is the starter for this year and possibly beyond if he plays how he's capable of.

  6. A 36 year old QB, in a new system with a new team, and has missed the entire first 2 weeks of camp I have heard Tomlin say Russ is in POLL position but do you know what I have heard Tomlin say FAR, FAR, MORE than Russ is in POLL position? The BEST ABILITY IS AVAILABILITY, and one of these QB'S hasn't been AVAILABLE in the slightest!

  7. He's a professional athlete that will be chased around by 300 lbs linemen, so pushing a sled shouldn't be an issue. If anything he learned he needs to stretch more, but I don't think it was ever really a major concern. At 35 they probably felt the less wear and tear they can put him through during training camp the better, he's still there learning the offense and getting comfortable.

  8. Fields role in.the offense is more than likely going to be starting QB. If this competition is even remotely close, go with the guy who's 10 years younger

  9. Heh heh… Steelers declined Fields year 5th yr option… If Fields does well, $25 million they declined is Less than half for Love, Burrows, & Lawrence…

  10. Heard before he was killed in prison, Jeffrey Dahmer was a model citizen. Since I didn't see him cannibalizing, I can't believe any of it. Ultimately, I get to choose to use that logic (seeing things with my own eyes or they didn't happen) whenever it fits me. When someone's willing to sacrifice over $85M just to get you to leave, you're special.
