  Highlights

Big hit by Hellams on Ray-Ray

2 catches by London over Terrell

[Falcons] Penix to Washington

[Falcons] Kirk to London

Camp Updates:

Much less updates, reporters asked not to tweet play by plays, but I'll post some updates for those without Twitter and recaps when they're posted.

Updates from Adnan Ikic:

DeMarcco Hellams just forced an incompletion with a big hit on Ray-Ray McCloud over the middle

Three consecutive incompletions from Penix to start his night against the number 1 defense. None of the passes looked too accurate as the rookie quarterback may be a bit amped up in front of the fans.

Penix’s first completion goes to Casey Washington for decent yardage

Storm Norton just laid down a great block to help spring Carlos Washington for the best run of the night so far

Casey Washington is making his presence felt tonight after a couple of quiet days

The first team Falcons offense was tasked with getting into field goal range (started at around their own 35) in a 2-minute drill. Kirk Cousins went 4-4 to easily move into Younghoe Koo’s range, who promptly nailed the field goal.

Michael Penix also gets his offense to the opposing 35 (and field goal range) in the 2-minute drill exercise. He went 4-5 overall, with the lone incompletion being a drop by Rondale Moore. He had an incredible pass to Moore in a tight window to get into opposing territory.

Younghoe Koo nailed 6 of 7 field goals thus far with at least 3 of them being from behind 50 yards. The lone miss was around 55 yards and hit the post.

KhaDarel Hodge just scored a 10 yard rushing TD on an end around on the first red zone play with the second team

First receiving touchdown goes to Drake London. He beats Anthony Johnson on an out route

Drake London just got back to back catches against AJ Terrell, who had tight coverage both times.

Storm Norton has really impressed me tonight.

By my count tonight, Kirk Cousins was 17-20 passing, including 3-4 against the first team, and 1-1 from inside the red zone for a touchdown to Drake London.

Updates from Daniel Flick:

Casey Washington just made a full-extension, diving catch on the left side from Michael Penix Jr. — good ball to the field.

New Falcons OC Zac Robinson's creativity has impressed me this summer. Pretty diverse array of screen concepts, end arounds and other ways to get playmakers the ball in favorable positions.

Falcons offense just had a pre-snap penalty and Kirk Cousins swung his arm in the air in frustration. He's hit his last seven throws, but he's also very much a perfectionist in all facets.

Updates from Josh Kendall:

Raheem Morris on Troy Andersen: "Make no mistake, he’s a starting linebacker in the National Football League, we just happen to have three of them."

In 1 offense vs. 1 defense segment near end of practice, Drake London has been best player on the field.

Recaps

Josh Kendall Recap:

– Penix Jr. was sharp Day 1 but it’s been shaky since. Nothing awful just looks like rookie is getting weighed down by volume now

– Cousins hit the ground for first time when defender got too close, popped back up quickly

– In what team called a 1s vs. 1s segment, Demone Harris and Bralen Trice were at DE/Edge

– JD Bertrand still looking good, smothered Bijan on a wheel route

– Trice showed good power vs. McGary a couple times, including drawing a flag

– Casey Washington made best catch of camp so far

– Rondale Moore didn’t have a great catching day, but he and Penix had great route and throw vs. 1 defense late

– 1s and 2s offense converted on 2-minute FG situations

– Falcons really committed to being big up front defensively

– Drake London is really good
