  1. Pregame Thread only two hours after the Postgame Thread from the night before? Fuck…I don’t even have anything to comment or post about yet haha.

  2. Seeing Yusei and JT do well for other teams sucks 😭

I just hope the Jays can make it back to 500. That would be a nice moral victory

  3. The Blue Jays continue to do some mass cleaning of the farm system after adding a massive 42 prospects over the last month: 18 Draft Picks, 11 UDFA & 13 Trade Acquisitions.

Since the draft they had 12 releases had 1 retirement and in the last 24 hours they have released 8 more players and traded 1.

    * **RHP Troy Watson (27)** was traded to DET for some cash considerations. He was the innings eater of innings eater in AAA and was always the one left out to potentially die on the hill in order to get through games. He laboured through 46.0 innings with a 8.61 ERA. He allowed at least 1 ER in 19 of the 26 games he pitched in. He was the Blue Jays 15th Round Pick in 2018. The Blue Jays have 1 player remaining in the organization from this draft: **Addison Barger.**
    * **2B Miguel Hiraldo (24)** is the biggest name in the list of releases. A former Top 10 prospect in the system and a member of the organization for 8 years. Despite having some really solid tools he was never able to put it all together. He was good in everything but not particular great in anything and nothing ever developed to an advanced level. This season between AA/AAA he hit a measly .220/.287/.278 with a .564 OPS.
    * **RHP Mike Mayers (32)** was signed late in Spring Training as some much needed organization depth and potential reclamation project. He did deal with some on-and-off injuries but did his job eating innings although not particularly well. Finished with a 6.10 ERA, .278 OBA & 1.62 WHIP in 41.1 AAA IP. He was no longer needed with the wave of call-ups from AA.
    * **RHP Jordan Powell (26)** was the interesting knuckleball pitcher who sported an elite moustache the Jays signed in Spring Training. The Jays gave him ample chances but put up an 11.50 ERA & 2.667 WHIP in 16 appearances in Low-A.
    * **RHP Jorge Bautista (23)** was a minor league signing at the start of the season and was a fun story as he performed well early on but faltered heavily down the stretch in Low-A and given his age fell out of favour quickly.
    * **C Kekai Rios (27)** was organization depth at the catching position mostly used in emergency basis and spent time all over the organization. Doesn’t really hit or defence but simply good enough to play the position. Missed some time with injury too. Jays have brought in several new catchers which made him not needed.
    * **2B Adrian Meza (19)**, **RHP Raudy Gomez** **(19)** & **C Carlso Vasquez (19)** were all International Free Agents who couldn’t make the transition from the DSL to the FCL. A huge barrier for most young players and where most organizational released come from.

Considering the large influx of prospects still needing to be added to rosters it is very likely we will see more releases coming up.
