Ross Atkins Realized He RUINED The Toronto Blue Jays

Ross Atkins was a man on a mission. That mission was to turn a power hitting Toronto Blue Jays team, in to a “run prevention” team. Flashforward 22 months, and the Toronto Blue Jays are dead last in the AL East, and Ross Atkins has just realized he has ruined this team. And now, he has a completely mission for this Toronto Blue Jays and how HE plans on getting them back to contention next year.

  1. Fiest off, they were the ultimate run prevention team last year. Complete Domination.

This year went according to plan I think. Realistically, they knew this was going to be a step back after missing Ohtani (they planned to outbid everyone and lost). Sometimes you lose.. its ok.
Instead of signing guys noone really wanted (chapman, snell, soler) they signed 1 yr guys who absolutely give us a shot next year if they can make useful trades with that haul..and sign Soto.

They could be playing chess while the fans cant even play checkers..

  2. Atkins thinks Jays fans are idiots. He spreads his BS thick and uses Jays insiders to soften his lies. No top notch catcher, no bullpen, no farm system, and the same useless coaching staff and he expects us to believe the Jays will be contenders next season? He traded away Moreno but didnt extend Jansen. His drafting has been terrible and almost lost this seasons 1st round pick when it took til the deadline to sign Yesavage. Atkins cant negotiate contracts and has knee jerk reactions when his offers are declined without a plan for the consequences. Atkjns is a clown with an ego and needs to go asap for the jays to move forward towards a winnjng culture again

  3. My strategy- fire the entire management team and replace them. especially the player development people. It's been ages since the Jays have developed a significant player. Get rid of Bichette; he only plays for his ego. Bichette's defense is inadequate but I'm sure he would refuse a switch to left field. He strikes out way too much because he overswings and won't change. He makes a lot of bad defensive plays because he insists on looking cool with those sidearm throws.
Also part of my plan – SIGN VLADDY!!!!

  4. Putting aside the reality that Ross Atkins absolutely should step down (and if he won’t, take the decision out of his hands!), it’s an interesting thought experiment. It was the wrong direction, but he set out to build a run prevention team, and he definitely succeeded, so we know he can see a plan through. The key difference is that to build the prevention team, he’s had to give up a lot of our resources, and he won’t have anything like those levels of trade capital at his disposal this time round, so FA is his only genuine option. And until they lock down Vladdy, there’s going to be uncertainty about the long-term makeup of the team which is going to put off the kinds of names he’ll need to acquire.

  5. It's funny that the last comment he says everything except it was my fault. He was probably the valedictorian at his graduating class at San Quinton prison….he must have embellished money from somewhere else…oh yea Cleveland.

  6. He literally could not have done a worse job…the facts speak for themselves. If he keeps his job, I’m done with this team until a new leadership group comes in.

  7. Just like the last off-season when he said we have a lot of holes to fill and filled non of them. Then wondered why we suck, fire him it's long over do.

  8. We need new management the current did not go to good so what makes anybody think it will change they had seven years and the only thing that happened was regression

  9. They planning to contend next year, you can tell by all the prospects they picked up. That means he and the rest of the front office will be here next year. Ross will have a new role, click will be gm. But same recycled mess.

  10. Despite the disappointments and bad decisions over the years i'm going to look at some upside here. I want to see the current newbies get their chances to develop. It looks like they have a handful of potentials with a few to come up. I kinda like the path the Jays are on. Maybe trade Bo or Bassitt or Romano and acquire more quality prospects. I think the Jays have a better team today than at the start of the season.

  11. In a way, we're fortunate that we have 2 months of MLB competition remaining to see who among our AAA players currently on the roster can prove themselves as starters. Will Loperfido show his mettle and win his spot in LF? How about Leo Jiménez? Will he show enough at SS that we will consider working a trade of Bo Bichette for a power hitter or a starting pitcher? How about Addison Barger? I'd like to see more of him even if it's at the expense of some playing time for George Springer and Daulton Varsho. Unfortunately, Davis Schneider has not yet proven that he deserves to stay up with the team, in my opinion. He'll have to prove himself again in Spring Training to win a spot (maybe some Winter Ball as well?). I believe Ernie Clement should stay and play the role as super sub/utility player. I'd like to see WIll Wagner and Charles McAdoo for the AAA call-ups in September to see what they can do. And bring up Orelvis Martinez, even if it's just for the last week of the season. Finally, let's get Danny Jansen back.
