Perez’s first start w/ Padres

Per ESPN:

"Perez allowed a run on three hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Saturday.

SPIN: Perez's lone mistake in his San Diego debut was a solo home run surrendered to Hunter Goodman. Over his last two starts, Perez has allowed just one run across 12 innings, and it was encouraging that he avoided issuing a walk for the first time since May 8. The veteran southpaw now has a 4.96 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 70:32 K:BB over 89 innings across 17 starts between the Padres and the Pirates this year. He's projected for a favorable road start at Miami in his next outing."

  1. Good for him and good luck on the rest of his season. I am, however, glad that he’s in the Padres’ rotation instead of the Pirates.

  2. He’s a really good pitcher. We just happen to have better
I’m glad we got something from him and let’s keep chugging

  3. He had quite a few of these starts with us, but also his fair share of disastrous ones. I’m still not really mad about the trade.
