7. I really hope Oilers don't move Broberg, they have the opportunity to have a good offensive defensemen on 3 of 4 pairs with him Bouchard and Nurse all playing separate. They just need one or two shutdown defensemen to play alongside Nurse and/or Broberg. If everything works out and Coffey has the D playing the way he wants, the shutdown guys shouldn't even have to be THAT good

8. I wonder if the Habs have made a strategic error in stockpiling young D guys. It's getting to the point that they must move one or two for forwards and that and that should play to the advantage of their trading partner. I see no world where Barron will get them Holloway.

15. Sanderson/Zub were one of the best pairs in the league last year, the sens will be loathe to get rid of zub if this season goes just as well or better for them as a pair. I think you hope to keep Zub until Yakemchuk is ready to pair with Sanderson on that top pair.

18. Here we go again. If Edmonton has some interest in Barron well lets make it a block buster deal because Montreal should be interested in Draisaitl. Habs will send to Edmonton: 2025 1st round pick, 3rd round pick, 4th round pick 2026 1st round pick, 4th round pick, Barron, Mesar, and Anderson. Oilers will send to Montreal: Leon Draisaitl. I think part of this trade though is Edmonton needs to get Leon to sign an extension like say 5 years at 12.5 or something. You all may think I'm crazy but think of this line: Draisaitl, Dach, Demidov (the dirty D line). Followed by Caufield, Suzuki, Slaf. 3rd line: Roy, Newhook, Gally. Obviously aside from trading or getting rid of some players like Anderson, Dvorak, Evans, etc. I think bringing on a player like Draisaitl is the last piece of this rebuild puzzle, we need that veteran high point scorer. This should give us a good 5-6 year run at it.
