  1. Habs are not in need of Cap space they have 5.5M and can put Price 10.5M on LTIR, so why would they pay to trade Dvorak, and they can just put him on waivers if he’s claimed no big loss

  2. I think Josh Anderson will be part of the return and it is why it is taking a bit long to complete. And he just got married and is on his honeymoon.
Anderson has also a 6 or 8 teams no trade clause, so he needs to accept the trade.
Anderson, 3rd or 4th round pick >>> Laine. No salary retained.

  3. Wait until training camp. A middle-6 center from another team will get injured and Dvorak will gain some value. If not, wait until trade deadline. No need to rush, nobody is really pushing him out of the lineup right now.

Newhook will most likely be on the 2nd line with Dach (and they can rotate the center position if one of them is struggling).

  4. Don’t trade unless another prospect pushes Dvorak out and forces a trade. Giving a prospect a spot unearned doesn’t help develop him. The prospect is better off in the minors with more minutes.

  5. The best case scenario regarding Dvorak is that he plays the year as a really good 3C and they fleece a center-starved team in Jan/Feb 2025.

  6. DVO turned out to be one of Berry’s worst trades. Like him or not as a person, he brings little to no offense and he is always hurt. I see no reason not to give up a third rounder to get ride of him or retain some salary to make space for the kids.

  7. Dvo is a pretty good 200ft center, better in the face-off circle than Suzuki. If the Habs are looking to trade him then maybe they should be trying to upgrade his value some. The Habs were on a mission last year to get a top 5 pick. That doesn't help the player's stats if management's goal is to lose as much a possibile. They should put Dvo with Gally and Armia on a line, that would be a good 200ft line and show off Dvo's qualities more than letting him go for nothing now. I saw a trade involving Dvo and others for Laine, didn't look like it was anything that would be close for Waddell to let Laine go. I think Mike Matheson for Laine and the Bluejackets 1st rd pick in 25 top 10 protected and if that doesn't go then it gets shifted to the 1st in 26 no protection. Plus no salary retention on Laine. Waddell has 2 years to get his team out of the basement. This looks like a better go than the other trade proposal I was looking at. MM had 62 points last season, that's more than Laine had in each of his last 3 seasons. I can't help but feel that if the Habs want Laine this is more of a trade that will get it done.

  8. Nervermind Dvorak is just a matter of time no biggie… but…Laine will be a HAB and when all chips fall into place it's push for the CUP time!!

  9. The way Kent Hughes operates, he will pull another trick out of his hat and make a deal with another team for a player we don't expect.

  10. What on earth is he talking about concerning red flags for Laine
Just because he was in player assistance it shouldn't mean anything concerning on the ice issues
    It might be completely unrelated
Laine best fit is clearly not Montreal but he should have a chance
Too much bad publicity for nothing already

  11. Concerning DVO, he's still a young guy.. had a bad season last year but excepted that one season he's a ~ 0.50/0.60 pt/game guy so we definitly do not pay an extra to get rid of his contract. Injuries will be a thing all over the season and we'll need extra guys. The only option why Kent would do that would be to make some space under the cap hit but we got plenty for the moment + a trade would have to be imminent for it to happen 🤔
