Lauri Markkanen trade rumor: Signing date set with Utah Jazz

It’s looking like Lauri Markkanen has some more trade rumors out there and we likely see Markkanen re-negotiating with the Utah Jazz, unless the Golden State Warriors make a deal. A trade can still happen but August 6th is the day it has to happen if the Jazz want to trade him this year.

  1. I'm really conflicted! I, as a lifelong Jazz fan, love his game and hope he stays on the other hand he makes us too good . Please, basketball gods help us

  2. Have to say as a scandinavian that Utah would prolly be one of the places to live in US.

Especially as we dont have such big cities and most dont like the environment either.

So a place like LA is seen as bit of a push off.

If it makes any difference here on the selection.

Anyways I hope Jazz would then honour it well and see it as a huge plus for the future.

  3. This rumor makes sense – why?

Because Markkanen has been traded so often, first from the Bulls and then from the Cavaliers, that he does not want to be the subject of a trade, at least not in the starting season.

Markkanen most likely gets a good deal financially from the Jazz and he and his family have a good time in Utah. After all, what is thought at home, have great importance. Of course, if Markkanen wants to win, he would have to leave the Jazz, but in reality, other things also matter a lot.

The problem for the Jazz is Ainge, who hoards draft picks and never uses them. Success will not come with that style in the future; i am pretty sure about that.

  4. If I am a team interested in trading for him I would not. He has said he really wants to stay there. This says that he is more concerned about being comfortable than winning. He’s not interested in contending. He can get paid and not have any expectations.
