So, who else could we look at?

  1. Don’t like this one bit. The price tag is TBD but if it’s something along the lines of the rumors (2 or 3 + vet WR) then he should’ve sacked up and gone for it. Aiyuk is as complete a WR as there is in the league and he’d be invaluable for a WR group that’s not really good outside of Terry. Thumbs down

  2. Getting him would be cool but at the same time it would smell very Snyder esque to try to get the big fish on the market during a rebuild.

Washington needs as many picks as we can get. Think its a good sign that peters is doing the opposite of the last 20 years

  3. I wasn’t going to complain if we got Aiyuk and I’m glad Peters picked up the phone, but I’m not upset about this. We should take a season and see if Dotson can bounce back or if LMC/Sinnott can turn into anything before making a move like this. If Daniels looks the part but no one emerges behind Terry, we can always try and make a move for the next disgruntled WR.

  4. Maiocco said the framework with both the Browns and Patriots involves a veteran WR and package of draft picks. That + a hefty extension is definitely too much to send out during a rebuild.

  5. While I think he’s an awesome receiver, I’m not a huge fan of trading for him. Since we are still rebuilding, I think it’s best we don’t blow draft capital to get him

If he somehow hit FA next offseason, I’d be down to sign him. If another team trades for him and signs him to an extension, then so be it.

  6. We can draft our own aiyuk and pay him a big contract after 4-5 years on a rookie deal. Signing a huge contract along with giving up draft compensation is just a losing recipe.

Peters has said he primarily wants to build through the draft and that’s how teams win.
