  1. Quinn Hughes can play with anyone and be well protected with Desharnais from physical abuse at the same time. Canuck management is smart . This is not the Benning era. This management team reminds me of Pat Quinn and Brian Burke and coach Mark Crawford. Crawford always coached outside the box…….He just lost his career because Crawford was a hot head. Crawford was an excellent coach however.

  2. You guys heard the one about Wayne Gretzky. He brought Jarri Kurri with him on his wedding night. He had to have someone to put it in for him. Ye old joke.

  3. I'd say trying Vinnie Desharnais out on the top line with Hughes is at least worth a look in the preseason to see how to goes. If it works, would be a great way to spread the puck movement defensemen across more of the lineup, and at the same time move the aging Myers down to the 3rd pairing with Forbort, which also kind of makes sense, so we can take advantage of the veteran's size and experience, while not having his age and possible stamina issues being a liability from him purely making fatigue errors from being on the ice too much.

Could also be an occasional pairing where you rotate him up there periodically when resting Myers and getting someone like Juulson some reps, as well, and if Vinnie can get the stamina to go on a high minutes top line regularly by the season after, maybe? You never know until you try. Maybe Tocchett sees a "Vennie Desharnais doesn't know how good Vinnie Desharnais is" kind of thing?

  4. Schenn was a far better player than Vicent. I really don't know how good of a passer he is or even recieving pucks. . If it is true then staff had seen something in him that would make them believe he can play at that level.. Not convinced but willing to have faith he does well.

  5. I think it's a good idea actually. Hughes got pummeled in the playoffs he needs someone to help him out. If the Canucks are smart they'll get Hughes extended now instead of 3 years from now. It will be cheaper in the long run and Hughes loves it in Vancouver, he won't demand the maximum. I think 12 mill a year for 8 years will get it done. It has to be more than Petey's contract.

  6. At first I hated the idea but if the canucks are not going to trade for a top 4 dman, it doesn't sound like a bad idea. However, hronek has the learn how to carry a line by himself
