New Orleans Pelicans Need to Show More Patience with Recent First-Rounder

Hawkins had a rough Summer League, but as the article points out the Pels were clearly testing his potential as more of a leading guard (ball handling, play making, shot creation). While this didn't pan out, I think there is still a good future for Hawkins with his elite shooting and off ball movement. Excited to see what he brings next season, even if he spends some more time in the G League.

  1. I don’t think we’re looking to move him at all though? Hopefully we run a modern offense that prioritizes threes so his minutes become more valuable.

  2. I am expecting a lot of minutes for either Hawkins or Ryan.

They lost Dyson and Naji and that’s more than full-time minutes to replace. Even bringing in Murray won’t replace them all.
