  1. Well it’s establishing a measuring stick, kind of like Suzuki for the forwards. We forget all he’s done already top pairing on wrong side. It’s a great signature.

  2. Wifi will still be an RFA at the end of his deal. He's been injured to both shoulders and he plays a tough kind of game so 2 years is a great way to see he's durable and if he can take his game up a notch before locking him long term. I really like Guhle signing, about right amount of money and not 8 years. He's also been injured a lot, let's if he can stay heatlhy. Barron, still a project in my opinion but time might be running out for him in Mtl.

  3. If Devorak is still a Hab by season opener, he will be our 3rd line center. Hughes has shown he won't waste players. The hope will be that he plays well and stays health so they can move him at the deadline. They will take what they can get for him. He could do well with Armia and Gally. It could be a good shutdown line if those guys show up. Cheers

  4. My hot take for 2024-25. This is the year that Joshua Roy gets his credit. He will end up on 2nd line with Newhook/Dach. He scores 22 goals 35 assists for 57 points. When Demidov arrives, Roy will be a permanent member of the best 3rd line in hockey. That will be the biggest story of 24-25. I also believe if the Habs make the playoffs, we will see Demidov in a habs jersey.

  5. Training camp and pre-season will dictate what happens with Dvorak. IMO the key forward prospect this season is Kapanen given he has to make Habs roster or return to Swiss league. I have seen him play perhaps 20 times and he is a complete 2-way player. Too many seem to forget about him since he played pro in Finland. He was immense in the playoffs and IIHF.

Playing Dvorak for the hope of a 3rd round pick is nonsense. In 3 years with Habs he has only played on average 50 games per season with little offense albeit he is efficient on the dot. He will not do any better with more ice time as by this stage of his career he is what he is.

This season and next will be the last for Habs to develop players at the NHL level so the time is now to see what they have to offer before the pressure of playoff hockey comes. Therefore it is down to how many prospects get a shot this year and next.

  6. Hi, Josh, Jesse, and Friends! I would love to get a player like Laine. My wish would be to have him play on Gally’s line. I think that they would be great for each other. Gally would definitely be there to pump Laine up with his tenacity & grit. Have a great night, everyone. 🤗🤪😂

  7. Who is going to play on the Habs' first powerplay team when all is said and done? By 2025-2026 season, the Habs will have at their disposal a lot of quality, offensive gifted players that should make the Habs powerplay top ten in the NHL…

  8. It's fair risk, and like you said potential for big steal, first pairing D at 5.5 is solid.

Like Suzuki , it's a bit of a stretch but totally believe in the growth.
I think if we can get a better counterpart to unlock his value, whew this deal will be awesome. Injuries notwithstanding

  9. Laine for Anderson, no money retained. Columbus gets rid of Laine and gains some cap room, Habs still have a healthy cap space left. And only for 2 yrs. Worth the risk.

How could there be a bridge deal? He will be UFA at the end of the contract. Bridge deal is short term for those coming off of ELC to get them to UFA. A player that is UFA doesn't sign a bridge deal, they are past that.
