Funny how you mention Kent could extend Ghule this summer and boom, signed! LOL I was a big fan of Guhle after I saw the youtube video, "Kaiden Guhle wakes up every day, and chooses violence" from Elite Prospects. I couldn't wait to see how he would translate his skills to the NHL and he's been above average for his age and role which is awesome because he's only 22. The knee injury worried me but it didn''t seem to bother him much last season. I couldn't be happier to see him signed for the next 7 years. He's not excellent at one particular thing but great at almost everything. He's solid player and as you mentioned, a true leader.
This team is built around character players and Guhle is part of that. As fans, we might not be expecting them to compete for the cup at the start of the season but it's fun to see this team grow and I enjoy cheering for a bunch of guys that I like. Go Habs go!

Guhle is top pairing D. 20+ minutes per game. Is he underpaid or is Slaf overpaid ? Seems Guhle has at least as much value.
Great contract that will help set the bar for our other upcoming defenseman like Suzuki did for the forwards.
Biggest thing this gives Habs is cost certainty. Habs know what they’re spending on the cap on a large chunk of their core for the next 6 years. Gives them idea of what they’ll have to spend on FAs
love the deal ,it fits perfectly into the salary cap space , leaves $$ on the table and set the precedent of team first .
The most underrated defenseman in the NHL…Hes just as good as a Jake Sanderson and is making way less.
