Per Josina Anderson, Brandon Aiyuk turned down $28.5 million+ per year to play for the Patriots. If it’s not purely about money, then what is it about???

  1. Aiyuk starting to realize he’s not viewed as a 30m+/year receiver and he should’ve just signed back in April must be a hard pill to swallow. Hope he doesn’t tank his career catching passes from Justin Fields in Pittsburgh

  2. So the Patriots are offering the most at 28.5M… the 9ers originally offered about 25M (someone correct me if I’m wrong)… the Steelers presumably are offering anywhere between 25.5 & 28M. If the difference is really just a couple of million, I’ll be pretty disappointed in both player and team. Obviously, the real mystery is guaranteed money.

  3. Considering how the Pat’s played last season, I wouldn’t either. Look at the poor top tier receiver that ended up in Raider land. Pissed off due to a loosing team. He got paid, but you want a winning team.

  4. If he *really* wants to go the Steelers, my question is why? He’s not from around there. Didn’t go to school there. Likely not the most money if the NE offer is real. Not more of a contender than the 49ers. Not a pass-first offense. What’s the connection?

  5. Can he come back to the team after this fiasco? There will always be a cloud hanging over his head now. Best to rid us of him.

  6. Damn it’s crazy during the regular season I wanted an Aiyuk jersey super bad because I thought he would be a Niner for a long time hahahahahah. I mean he still might be, but I’m definitely not buying his jersey now

  7. I guess there’s a reason he was in Shanny’s doghouse to start his career. He’s still offense option #4 on this team and Niners will be fine with or without him.

  8. Aiyuk really starting to look like a world class dodo at this point. He presumably got what he wanted and then still turned it down? I can see why the 49ers are ready to move on. Cannot wait for this saga to end so that we can start getting amped for the season.

  9. I really don’t understand wtf he wants and at this point I don’t care..im tired boss

  10. If he’s frustrated with Brock, image how pissed he’ll be getting open over the middle only to watch Russel Wilson try to scramble and take a sack. If he’s lucky, he’ll be downfield blocking for Justin Fields keepers and getting 3 receptions a game in a run heavy offense.

  11. Aiyuk is a diva, I hope we just don’t trade him at this point and make him either play disgruntled or just sit out the season, we don’t need him, we literally went to the Super Bowl without him in 2019.

  12. Jesus Christ my head always hurts after reading one of Josina’s word salad tweets

  13. BA is a very good receiver with great hands, route running, and blocking. It also helps that they can’t scheme around him because we have Deebo, CMC, and Kittle. Back to back 1K yards with the help of Purdy’s is a very accurate QB, which allows him YAC yards. The only knock on him is that he has no breakaway speed. Deebo, Kittle, and even Purdy have it. He is not the number-one receiver in my book.

  14. Getting tired of BA… Dude wants to get paid and dictate when he goes as well. To me he’s just a system WR in The Shanahan offense surround by other talented players/WRs. He’s average less than 50 yards with a high of 73 yards in 9 playoff games and has score a total of 1 TD. So until he goes somewhere else and proves different, he’ll always be a system WR.

However, id just make him play out his 5th year and tag him next year to trade. If he doesn’t like that, tough shit and he can ride the bench while ruining his market value.

  15. Pittsburgh’s history suggests that they’ve never been about paying the most. They have a culture of playing for the love of the game. If he wants to play there, fine. But they aren’t paying him the money he wants. No chance.

  16. Honestly, a week after the Super Bowl I thought this play was a Joe Bosa or Deebo holdout for payday move, but now I think he’s trying to get over $30M/yr and he’s slowly realizing no one is going to pay him that.
