Patriots news and rumors have shifted to the possibility of the NFL expanding the NFL regular season to 18 games. The New England Patriots could benefit from this because the more games in the NFL regular season, the more revenue the rebuilding Patriots can receive throughout the season. When the NFL expanded to 17 games players received an extra paycheck, but the additional paycheck did not count towards the team’s salary caps. Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawerence on adding an 18th game to the NFL season:
“It’s a lot of games, so I think there has to be some give. That’s a lot of games on the players, and it’s already — 17’s a lot, when we went from 16 to 17. Maybe if there are two bye weeks. I don’t really know what the conversations are there.”

“We have talked at a very, very, very high level superficially, with a recognition … about, ‘Yeah, this is something that we should be talking about. And we should really kick the tires and understand what else goes into that decision-making process.”

Im gonna be the one to say it now. The NFL and Roger Goodell are adding more gsmes to diminish records held by previous greats. Let patrick mahomes shine more and break Bradys old records in a season for example, because thats the NFLs golden child. And yes more money too
I think even with Aiyuk refusing to play for us this team is underrated. Solid Defense, Javon Baker and Polk are both really going to shine as rookie receivers and pop Douglas is a decent slot guy. At QB Drake Maye is looking raw but he is a rookie. However Jacoby is a very serviceable QB. Oline will be better with stronger coaching too. Only concern is special teams without the goat 🐐 Matt Slater

N. Overall quality of play will continue to deteriorate. Teams will need to have starters on 1st and 2nd string.
18 games is too many. Right now just about every Thursday night game is lousy. There is already too many injuries. The game will get worse for sure. The Patriots have plenty of money. They don’t need any more.

18 games is a good idea, add two weeks and add the second by week. So will that mean playing until March. Schedule games every week, but find a way to give two by weeks. Do not stop having pre-season games, keep what you have, give up nothing. Change the overtime, after playing an overtime period still tied, have kicker decide it with a "Kick field goal challenge". Use just the field goal team and move back until some one misses.
Is anyone talking about the single season records or career?
