[Jake Fischer] “In Atlanta… that [full max], according to my information, is what Jalen Johnson is hoping for with the Hawks in his extension.”

In Yahoo’s latest No Cap Room podcast, Jake Fischer talks about Johnathan Kuminga’s situation and squeezes a tiny bit of intel about Jalen Johnson into the segment.

The discussion begins at 1:01:45 discussing Kuminga’s situation and then Fischer ties it back to Johnson around 1:02:30.

If someone knows what his full max extension would look like, please share.

  1. If he’s angling for a full max then there’s no reason to offer to him before we have to. Not like he can drive up the price via performance if that’s the case.

  2. Why wouldnt he ask for it? Might have to go to RFA for him to get it though. So is he willing to wait for that? Or take the 30-35 that he’s worth right now. I would wait if I was him.

  3. I truly believe he’ll be a star very soon, but please don’t repeat the John Collins mistake

  4. Jalen can get whatever he wants I’m expecting him to play at a border line all star level. I just pray we can find someone who will take on Dre’s contract. This is the thing killing us imo not that it’s so much but that he’s not earning it . But if Dre can sustain that 16 ppg off the bench he is a lot more valuable to us

  5. Of course he’s angling for that. He’s hoping he has an All-Star season and the Hawks are in a position where they would offer that. Any player who just had a breakout 16 ppg season at his age would want that. He wants to average 20 PPG+ with a bigger role in the offense.
