  2. With Vladdy and Kirk back in form along with the younger guys with something to prove, I think this Jays team is a lot more fun to watch than the team we started the season with. We may not end the season with a good record, but at least the games are fun again.

  3. I’ve seen a lot of Extend Vlad comments in threads recently, but I don’t think that the Blue Jays have a hope in hell of getting Vlad’s agents to agree on an extension now. Why would they? Why not wait until he puts up monster 2025 numbers and then hold an auction?

Even if Vlad really really wants to play here, it’s in his best interest to try to extract as much money as possible. And his agents know that they hold all the bargaining power: they know that the Jays have to keep Vlad in order to be considered a top-tier franchise.

This Jays front office has spent far more on free agents than any of its predecessors – it’s not even close – but it’s an open question whether Rogers will want to spend what it will take to keep Vlad. I know that I would be devastated if he were to go elsewhere and I suspect that I am not the only person who feels this way.

  4. There is no prospect more on a tear in the organization than **OF Alan Roden (24) in AAA:**

    * He is currently on a **12-Game Hit Streak** and has been scorching hot at the plate. Over the hit streak he has hit **.439/.500/.610 with a 1.100 OPS** and **187 wRC+** *(12.5% BB vs. 12.5% SO)*.
    * His turn around since his promotion started a while ago though. In his first **15 GP @ AAA** he hit a measly .**153/.282/.254 with a .536 OPS for a 45 wRC+** *(14.1% BB vs. 16.9% SO)*. In his last **20 GP @ AAA** he has become one of the leagues best hitting **.385/.453/.523 with a .976 OPS for a 155 wRC+** *(10.7% BB vs. 13.3% SO)*.
    * What has really stood out with Roden is he continues to hit the ball harder and harder every game. He has set a new personal professional best for Exit Velocity several times now over this month alone. Over the last week he has hit more balls over 100+ mph than anyone else in the organization outside of Vlad Jr.

Interesting to see where he fits into the picture with the increased OF depth between AAA/MLB.
