It’s always a good idea to take a flyer on a goalie in the later rounds, and Russian goalies seem to be the hot ticket item at the moment. I’m a bit skeptical about all the stuff about his hybrid style and instinct-based play, it might be confirmation bias but it feels to me like goalies with an unorthodox style almost always get found out once they face some tougher competition. That said, he’s a 6’4 goaltender and that’s a skill nobody can teach, hopefully we can get him over here in a couple of years and smooth out some of the rough edges in his play.
I’ve been a huge fan of the Obviator for minutes now, he’s going to render it unnecessary for us to score many goals to win games because he’s so good at stopping pucks!
