I think Laine would be a mistake and I think Barron is actually very good for his age.. Mike Matheson wasn’t as good as Barron at the same age. They’re similar type players.. patience with Barron. He’s still very young

4. The right side in the future could very well be Reinbacher, Mailloux and Barron. Harris is the one we need to trade. Struble too. We have Engstrom in the pipeline on the left side.

   Trading prospects is definitely a big deal right now, and needs to be looked at. First we need to get some of our veterans traded to let the prospects get any chance. What we’ve all noticed over the years is lot of players are actually better in the NHL than the AHL. It’s harder to make the best trades of players that haven’t even stepped on the ice for an NHL game. Have a great time, everyone. 😎😁

9. I know snake and he knows shit, most of his evaluations are off. Mailloux is going to be one of the best D of the Habs. He's big, has a great shot and can drop it if needed. The defensive aspect of the game is the easiest to grab for young D put not the offensive. I has to be in your DNA.

    I would wager though, that Mailloux is a far more desirable piece by other NHL teams than the other two.

11. But what are you going to do? Trade a Kidney type for a 7th, or another Kidney? I think it's more applicable for an Anderson type who had interest and whom I like but whose value has dropped.

    Who wants Barron? Pro scouts saw the same mistakes we all did. Barron is not getting you a Dach. Mailloux held his own in his NHL debut. He was roughing up veterans and they were not retaliating. He is going to be just fine

23. After all that the organization went through in drafting him and what they made him go through by drafting him especially when he specifically asked to not be drafted to trade a big talented right defence man with that much upside would simple be a crime.!!

27. Barron and Guhle played together on the first line of team Canada and didn't lose a game prelim or playoff and face the best players. Barron was a yoyo for Laval for most of the past 2 seasons and affected his game. Mailloux is potential so give him a real chance on young team. Matheson and Savard is not the future and being traded will bring more value for the future. Barron and Guhle, Mailloux, Hutson, Reinbacher, etc should be given the reins now and know this is their time to shine, The talent is there, entrust with your faith and the future will have its rewards playing in the nhl for 2 to 3 years seeds leadership like Guhle and Barron. Everyone committed from coaches on down. God knows the potential is there. GHG!

29. If Snake thinks Mailloux is at best a 3rd pairing defenceman and says he has good value to other teams, then I would like to know how he rates Barron.

    Barron is nearly 1.5 yrs older than Mailloux and has played nearly twice as many games throughout his career and still struggles defensively. Mailloux has only played 220 games so of course his decision making may not be the best and he still has a lot to learn defensively.

    Snake knows his stuff however guys like Mailloux, Reinbacher & Hutson are all so young so need time to develop. Barron's time is now so Hugo must decide quickly whether he is part of the future.

31. Mailloux has a higher ceiling than Barron, but the fact that he was a Bergevin pick vs Barron being a trade from Hughes, this might end up being a factor in the end. Also because of what Mailloux might be able to fetch vs Barron. I hope they can keep both long enough to get good evaluations of them before trading, to avoid a McDonagh or Sergachev situation again, but not too long if they end up loosing value. Romanov is a good example of proper evaluation and good return value from the trade.

Mailloux with Xhekai stops the Tkachuks of the world. This year we try to get Anderson back on track play him 2nd line. Would trade Mesar Barron and 2nd to get Laine. We also have to Get McGroerty would give Harris and 1st rd the Florida pick as Calgary finishing bottom 10. I always thought we should have taken Surin instead of Hage. Now that I’ve watched him more kind of a tossup. Would love to watch Surin at Nashville prospect camp. Randy brought up Kaliyev if we can get cheap would do this trade. Now if we have McGroerty and Kaliyev and Laine our top 6 can go up against even Edmonton and our prospect pool would consist of Roy McGroerty Hage and Beck as the top 4. Want Florian to earn 4th line center. Mailloux only traded for pick that gets us Schaefer.

37. Maiou is ready, I see him as an easy number 2 defenceman, Mathison only guy better on habs, Hudson is ready to,maybe rindbacker to ,put all 3 in line up

38. Imagine having as your defense lineup Reinbacher, Mailloux, Barron on the right and then Hutson, Guhle, Xhekaj on the left. And then imagine all you have to do to make it happen is nothing. You just wait and let them improve patiently.
