  2. The Canadiens have drafted 1st in 2022 but before that it was in 1980. At 3rd rarely at best usually 5th was an amazing draft year. Most years we pick high aren't considered good draft years. I honestly stopped watching and though it maybe not valid I do blame the rat on some of this. Priority market teams get the exceptional drafts. The Canadiens aren't on the list. The team has managed with scraps for decades. It is what it is. The NHL is a league focused on the USA. It is not Canadian anymore.

  5. I keep beating this drum over and over, I've beaten it for at least two years now; nobody, not even Habs fans like myself, know the true potential of a healthy Montreal team. I can well see them take a massive step forward this upcoming year, to the point of contending for a playoff spot all year long (though at the end I do think they'll miss out by just a smidge) on the one condition that they remain healthy all year. And after that? Let the floodgates open. There will be a very real cup contending window in the next several years, something the Habs haven't seen in far too long. And it's gonna be GLORIOUS.

  9. I believe we still haven't seen nothing with Slafkovsky. That kid's ability to adapt is scary. His competitiveness and disdain for losing is contagious. I think the kid is captain material. Only time will tell. He's only 5 months into his 20 years of age… Still a whole lotta development to do.

  17. As an Ottawa fan, I'm rooting for Montreal! I'm looking forward to when our rivalry with them actually means something again. Hopefully we're right there with them when they get good.

  20. Also, yes Ice Hockey is nature's perfect and most dynamic chess game. The board in regular chess changes every 1-40 seconds….in footbal it resets every 1-2 minutes….in baseball every 2-3 minutes…..in ice hockey it changes every second
