2. The Habs are all young and they have a boat load of young defenseman. Why would they want and OLD DEFENSEMAN that doesn't align with the age group of the Habs? Logan Mailloux and Arber Xhekaj for Letang? Mike Matheson for Letang?

   EK65 isn't in the top 10 in goals, assists, or points. He kind of reminds me of the offensive excellence of Mikael Granlund in San Jose. Mikael Granlund: 69GP/12G/48A/60Pts. Crosby: 52A, Granlund: 48A, EK65: 45A, Letang: 41A, Malkin: 40 assists. That's right Granlund playmakes on the same level as "THE CORE" in San Jose. EK65's Sharks numbers are clearly a fraud like Granlunds. Yep Granlund 69GP/60Pts vs Malkin 82GP/67Pts. Quinn Hughes: 92pts/EK65: 56Pts, Roman Josi: 23G/EK65: 11G, Quinn Hughes 75A/EK65:45A. The previous year EK65 led the league in Goals, Assists, & Pts. EK65: 25G/76A/101Pts. So no, EK65 the San Jose "Mikael Granlund" mirage can't be fixed by a Letang trade.

Maybe if the habs were contenders in a year or two and there was only a year or two left to Kris Letang's contract and he's still able to put points on the board, then it would make sense to trade for him to try and reach the cup. Right now though? This is a terrible idea. If he really wanted to play in Montreal, he should have done so earlier in his career, when there were opportunities.

13. yah the only way this makes sense is a vet for vet swap. so savard or matheson. dont see why habs do it when theyre loaded with young dmen needing ice time and letang has longer contracts than both of them while being older. if pitt wants to do it. they need to add an unprotected 1st round pick, minimum.

Knowing you will finish your career missing the playoffs for 7 straight years would be frustrating, though Letang is highly responsible for that also. Crosby should have just let the GM do his job that off season.
