  1. Kershaw couldn't break glass with his pitches, and yet we can't hit him. All these young guys with speed, but you can't steal first base. Unfortunately we are pretenders not contenders.

  2. I will agree with you on the big market analysis, however the moment was too big for these young players. Turang couldn’t hit a parked car, Frelick is regressing, and Mitchell looks absolutely lost! Send him down, and we need to see more of Tyler Black! Give him some playing time! This team is dying without Christian Yelich in the lineup.
Lastly, say what you will, Peralta sucks this year. Period.
Chuck this is also why I question your answer when you read my comment on air when you said Anastasio wants to win. I strongly disagree based on exactly what you said tonight! Anastasio is in and out for the buck- nothing more. His commitment to this team is not enough, he needs to prove it and be more aggressive with the payroll.

  3. I really have to question Christian Yelich’s back issues. If an NFL player were to bitch every time, his back hurt, nobody would draft him, and nobody would pay him! It’s time for Yelich to bite the bullet and play ball!!

  4. Unfortunately Freddy seems to be a one pitch pony. Can't get his breaking pitches across the plate so has to keep throwing fastballs until he hangs one and the opposition crushes it for a homerun

  5. I think the brewers current hitting issues is they feel the need to jump on pitchers rather than have the pitchers work. I could be wrong or ignorant but I see a lot of early inning, early at bat attacks. I want to see deep counts early and chase the starter out.

If you don’t swing at early count pitches that are at the edge of the zone, typically, the pitcher will go inside the zone more often cause those edge of the zone pitches are 50/50 strikes/balls.

Some of that has has to do with how the ump is calling the game as well but to typically only have an opposing only pitch 20 pitches in 2 innings isn’t a great thing.

  6. What is with the approach of Mitchell often squaring off to bunt and taking what is usually a strike on the first pitch. He is not fooling anyone with that approach and it is predictable . Perkins is better, but unfortunately he is on the IL with a calf injury.

  7. Life, like baseball, is all about choices. Sure, money plays a role but it’s a terrible excuse. Chuck said it himself, there have been some key injuries this year. And if those players were healthy we would have won more games. You just have to hope that some of these young players rise to the occasion, and if they do then lock them in with long term contracts that the Brewers can afford. I think the Brewers can easily afford a 20/mil per year contract for Adames. Also, extend Contreras on 7-10/mil per year. I know it’s a long shot but they could tender a trade in the off season for Ke’Bryan Hayes with Woodruff and some prospects. That would solidify the infield. Then pick up one more vet for the outfield, a three-five rotation guy with free agency. That being said, it’s just one loss. I think the Brewers will surprise us in a good way heading into the post season.

  8. Agree with your opening statement Chuck. Chuck opened, "I hate large market baseball." However, won't revenge be sweet when the crew, undaunted, wins it all? You can think the results are completely determined with "You get what you pay for" being the most determining trump card in the deck. But is it? The Brewers have something the Dodgers don't, and that's Pat Murphy. A few individual high priced players won't beat a team that's playing as a team to their fullest potential. Murphy stated publicly he didn't like the team's mindset going into the game. I'm glad he said that. That's on Murphy. I think Murphy will own it and FIX it. Murphy hasn't gotten this team this far without being hugely inluential to this team and has the resume to fix the mindset that he stated was faulty coming into this game.

  9. Lol, owners wanting salary caps is just owners wanting to profit more, they don't care about parity. Pay the players, they are the entertainmentm.

PS Playoff victories are just random luck.

  10. I could make a lot of money betting on Garrett Mitchell striking out in clutch at bats…Freddie Peralta demoted to 4th in rotation in my book. Civale and Montas arguably more effective than Freddie at this point.

  11. You’re right on track Chuck. Peralta is not ace material. Add to that the fact we are so streaky in hitting. Murphy is a magician keeping this leaky vessel afloat. I hope I am wrong, but I don’t see much happening in the postseason.
