  1. It most certainly is a ballsy move; however, this type of thing is not often the road chosen. I would fully expect for the Blues to be poached of a player in the coming years because they jumped into this arena. No matter what, the GM's have a long memory. Don't misunderstand me, but they will know for sure that they opened the barn door. We won't obtain Holloway, Edmonton will keep him, but IMO, Broberg will have a Note on his chest in a week. NO WAY would they pay him the 4.5 that we signed him to. Good move Army, just batton down the hatches, because payback is headed your way, lol.

  2. I hope we get at least Broberg. He will rocket up our depth chart.

At least it messed with Bowman, a born on 3rd base guy, bad GM (drove Blackhawks into ditch, allowed a sexual predator to get his name on SC and go on assault another young man).

I don't think oilers will keep both. D is a Swede, so I assume Steen is well acquainted with his game.

  3. it's good you can you can admit you were wrong. By all metrics the Blues had pretty good offseason even before this, this was just a good move to screw over a western rival we will probably not get either player possibly one of them but either way it screws with Edmonton's cap more and makes their situation more difficult which is something you should always do as a GM even if we can't get a player

  4. Good young studs. Sad to see them go, but IMO they weren't key pieces, so c'est la vie. Good luck in STL gents, kick some ass! But not too much.

  5. Like of course it would be the blues to give the finger to a former Blackhawks GM. I was kinda disappointed with the free agency opening but this was such nutty chess move. It'd be more funny if it turns out to be one of Alex Steen's ideas as new AGM and upcoming GM. like usually GMs don't like stepping on each others toes but its Stan Bowman and I dont' know how much of the league really welcomes him back to the league.

  6. Unexpected? I'd have been astounded if it didn't happen. Why would a team NOT make such offers?? If I'm a GM, (ya I know I'm not), I'd have done the exact same thing. 2 players who you could pick up who you know can play NOW, are just at the start of their skill level, are very young, who's upside is tremendous, and who you could get at a discount. It's a no brainer. I'm only surprised that just the blues had the foresight/ability to make the offers.

  7. Oilers probably hang on to Broberg. Holloway is an interesting young player , 22 years old, and the 14th overall pick from 2020. That is a great get for a third round pick.
He is around a point a game AHL player and has 25 goals in 63 AHL games. He hasn't scored at the NHL level.
The Oilers are putting Evander Kane on LTIR so they can match for Broberg who I think is the better player. Great skating eventual second pair defenseman who has been very disappointing offensively so far. St Louis won't get him.
