  1. This is just dumb youre still not clearing up enough cap space and this is a two year deal for both players which is the issue for Edmonton cause now they have more cornerstone pieces to sign but not enough cap space to lose those guys and taking Cici out isn't enough

  2. This may sound crazy, but I think the Oilers would rather lose Broberg over Ceci.

You’re either losing Ceci and a sweetener (first round), or lose Broberg and get a second.

  3. Cody Ceci is old and he sucks. Are they giving us a first round pick? Ceci is 30 but has little value.
We are not giving prospects back.
He was the fourth defenseman in Edmonton. We'll give them william trudeau.

  4. I think first, Edmonton needs to decide if they are willing to pay these two guys this much. For both, it's a heavy overpay at this time. If they decide that question comes back with a NO, they then need to see if someone will trade for them. Kinda a sign and trade type of deal. If someone will, match and move them. If not, let them walk. Personally, MTL would be better off passing on this deal. They are loaded with young D. No use saving another team from itself and getting more.

  5. A pretty cheesey move by the Blues. Trading Ceci is not about getting return value. It is all about clearing cap room. The Oilers will take anything offered as long as there is no cap hit involved.

  6. Yeah NO THANKS. No way should Montreal do a dumb trade like this. Hughes has stated that he won't block his young player and we have too many young D looking for spots. No thanks.

  7. Yup ! Wangle a First Round Pick from the Oilers along with a reasonable trade to make it a win for both teams …Habs get a good pick and the Oilers get a young Hab plus retain their players …Habs can then flip the Oiler player at the trade deadline …
