  1. Maeda found his Calling in a RELIEVER role!!!!! And Javy SAVES THE DAY!!!!! Got the sweep, life is good!!!! Just wait till Greene and Perez come back, we gonna get Hot!!!

  2. Just saw Riley Greene in Charlotte and he went 0-3 but had some good strong swings. Not surprised tork went 0-4 but vilade still hitting good and with power he homered

  3. It was a weird game, but, a great game. I typed "tigers score" in Google in the 3rd inning or something and Seattle had zero hits and a run! I watched the rest of the game, of course. And if you look at the speed at which Maeda throws the ball it tells you the guy is good finesse/strategy kinda pitcher who, even at his age, still has serious skills. Sending him to the bullpen was some sort of weird magic – the guy has been excellent since that change. Go figure.

  4. It looks like Sweeney is a basestealing threat. Thats what i liked most about McJinstry. He could swipe a bag. So, i think Sweeney is good in that regard with lots more power, aa well. Zach just diesnt hit enough. Thanks for the update Scott. Go Tigers!

  5. Badoo yesterday, Javy (again) today. Go guys!!! It will be good to see what these guys bring. (Jace & the other guy) Young guys often sputter the first year or two. Bear with them. I think of Dustin Pedroia in his so-so first season. He then performed like a sure fire HOFer. This, of course, ended when the dirtiest player in 2000s baseball, Machado, ended his career. Point being, though, stay with these guys and let them learn. Beginning to believe in this team, especially with Carpenter and Green coming back on board.

Sorry for the Boston plug. I lived there for quite a few years before returning to Michigan.

  6. Well, that's audition season for you! A little shake and shimmy and KA-POWW! Javy showing some spark. We're going to see some performances that suggest, hey, for your consideration, Mr. Harris. Time for Sweeney locked on third and Jung splitting time at third and second base. Get Lee up as well, let's do some mixology to find an ENTIRE infield for next year.

  7. I never really felt the Tigers should cut ties with Baez, and his recent performance has helped reinforce that. Yeah, he can be cringeworthy at times, but I think he's starting to find his groove that made him what he was at his peak in his career. I think our brass should keep him for the duration of his contract and then maybe cut ties to make room for upcoming talent.
