  2. Great video!! I feel your pain. Being a season ticket holder for the Atlanta Thrashers and then Florida Panthers during this time, I really know of the suffering.

Habs have over the last couple of drafts made some great moves for course correction for the near future.

  3. The only two drafts that I truely despise are Noah Juulsen and Kotkaniemi. Sebastian Aho and Brady Tkatchuk were my choice from the get go. Sebastian Aho made Laine so good when they played for Finland . Putting Aho and Tkatchuk together was my dream. But Quinn Hughes was the choice over Tkatchuk in retrospective. But man, a hard hitter with a one of the best 2 way foward.. oufff that would've been spicy!

  4. I really don't mind Kostitsyn over Getzlaf . Kostitsyn skating was superior by a mile over Getzlaf. Shooting , hitting everything. I would've picked Kostitsyn over Getzlaf anyday of the week at that time.

  5. Love you vids bro ,however have to correct one thing Bob Gainey wasnt fired, he resigned feb 8 , 2010 and picked Gautier to replace himself . And it was because he just lost his daughter in boating accident . And with the Gomez trade was made because the only way Gionta and Camilarri would sign with habs was if they signed Gomez. So he did cause he wanted them. And he been the man Molson has turned to for all Gm recomendations for gms after his tenure . He s the reason Goton and Hughs got hired . Molson took his advice . But he was hand cuffed in the Gomez trade due to those 2 free agents would only sign if he got Gomez . He really dint want him. But the development in montreal was a hugh issue since the latter part of S.Savards era. Habs stopped moving with the times in that department cause Molson didnt want to spend in that department. Till 30 + years later it caught up to the habs . And finally after being tortured that many years of not wanting to spend , the bubble burst when Bergy got fired . And thank God Molson listened to Gainey on hiring Gorton , and Hughs . And finally Molson realized he could no longer cut corners if he ever wanted the habs to have success again. But great video. Alot of that scouting crew through those years gave a lot of bad advice on just how good a prospect was. So alot of mistakes due to no money being placed in advaning the scouting team. So alot of bad trades made even from the beginning of it with Serge Savard. But they paid the price for ownership not wanting to spend. But great video bro.

  6. Your intro made me remember something that happened at least a decade ago, bear with me my memory will not be as fatefull as it happen. If I recall, Bob Gainey was the head coach of Montreal
But I do remember a trade made with Minnesota, mostly because of a part of the interview about the Wild Player:
''The GM (or coach I don't remember) came to me and said:
I have a bad and a good news, the good news is you're gonna play more minutes on the ice… the bad news is it'll be with the Canadians''

That, still today, is something I will always remember
    😅

  7. 75% of preparation is psychological/mental. The rest is physical. It's more important to be clear on a prospect's head space than his skill and potential. Some lessons are learned quicker than others. Many others. Too many others.

  8. When Scherbak was with the Icecaps my little brother got to be a mascot for one of their games and skate out with the bys. Nikita and John Scott were two of the coolest dudes ever; took the time to talk to him, snapped some pictures, even talked a bit with my folks. Really wished it worked out for him.

  9. I believe one of the first things Gorton did when he took over in 2022 was to hire a professional development staff. They salvaged Caufield and then went to work on Slafkovsky, Guhle and Xhekaj. They worked on interim rebuild players like Harris, Strubble, Kovacevic and turned them into assets. It's working.

  10. Alternate universe: Habs draft Chris Kreider, who proceeds to injure Henrik Lundqvist in the playoffs. The Habs get to the Stanley Cup Finals but get fucked in multiple consecutive overtimes while Carey Price carries the team on his back, losing in 5 games, giving the Kings revenge for 93

  11. I don’t think they drafted that poorly. It’s not a coincidence everyone they traded was great and most of what they kept was bad. We had sink or swim development, and other teams just had better systems.

  12. Demidov was a gift that Miraculously was there for Hab's 5th pick. Without this pick, Hab's rebuild (which is coming to an end after next year) would have been a failure… always one position too high for the right great picks. Management coulda shoulda played rookie goalie, but Didn't have a clue. They kept three goalies for most of season… dummies! Will the 2024 draft bale their rebuild out? We'll see… Kool aiders chant "in Hughes we trust" Really? I was just relieved he didn't pick a D over Dem

  13. There is a reason we have been irrelevant for 20 yrs.
There is also a reason we finally feel good about the future.
Like others have said… Not just drafting, but development.

  14. Perezhogin despite not becoming a star always seemed to play well vs the Leafs. For that alone he deserves a special gold star. Same for the Frankie the Cube. Right Darcy Tucker?

  15. Ya. Lots of stinkers. If I could change only one, it’d be Giroux. Can you imagine that great talent and leadership wearing the best jersey in organized sports? 😓😓

  16. To the defense of Perezhogin he had a good career in the KHL and had good stats in the AHL and also was doing relatively well on the 3rd line in the NHL for a young player but Montreal did not want to commit to the relatively high salary a russian team offered him so he did what everyone would have done which is take the money.
