  1. Going to be interesting Tuesday. I also think we are going to see offer sheets become more common over the next few years now as well. Especially if the Blues do end up getting these players. I think if that happens, some owners are going to be telling there GM teams to pursue these options as well.

  2. I still think they let both go and take the picks! They have depth for now! I realize their cap is thin but it is workable! Broberg and Holloway have a long way to go to be nhl regulars! Stecher will replace Broberg and the replacement for Holloway will most likely be Savoie! Unfortunately the time invested in the 2 players is gone but it is not the end of the world! Opportu ity for someone else is there!

  3. Broberg is gone. Holloway stays. Akey is the long term 2nd Rd and Wanner is 3rd of the future. Take the pick and make sure you make sure you hit on that that pick big time.

  4. I think we let both go. Broberg spend all season in the AHL tell playoff. Yea he did go but is it 4.4 million good when the oilers are so hard up for cap space?

  5. I think the Oilers will match on both and figure it out before the season starts. The danger of this will be the second year when they have to sign the big stars of the team.

  6. I find it hilarious that all the Edmonton sites are all over this with the same story over and over but if you search it from the STl blues pov very few videos lmao. Seems like they got in your alls heads and now you are starting to understand cap space importance. Good luck signing bouchard draisatle and McDavid in future with this kind of mess

  7. Again, what does Broberg himself say? Is his agent doing all the talking? Is the relationship between him and team really that poisonous? How do we know it's poisonous? Who says? It's all a new deal now. New management group. New way of doing things. New level of communication. And then there is the Paul Coffey factor. So far, Jeff Jackson has, with the exception of the Bowman hiring, waved the magic wand. Let's hope he can keep doing so. Can't see Vancouver doing a trade with us. Sure, they get Kulak, but doing that trade helps us more than it does them because we get to keep two very good young NHL level players both of whom have a lot more long-term potential than Kulak. Do I think Broberg is better than Kulak right now? Yes. If I was Vancouver, I wouldn't do anything to help the Oilers. You never know though. Stranger things have happened. Already miss Ken Holland! I would like to keep Bowman out of this. He's new. He has to prove himself. Let him do so with some issue that's less important to the future of the team.

  8. The Blues have sure created a distraction from Drai’s extension. Tough decisions will be made for the better of the team . Also how the two players will be received in the dressing room if both are kept. Broberg has already wanted out .Thanks for the update.

  9. The issues with broberg are…he asked for a trade last season. He didn't sign any offers the oilers made before the offer sheet. He signed the offer sheet to get away from the oilers. The cost is high. The kulak trade makes the most sense because it also opens up the spot for broberg to play on the correct side, but if you are having to dump ceci and kulak then you are down a starting d man. The price is too high for the pilers right now. St Louis can paybit becasue they have the space. Not only does this cost double what it should for broberg for the next two years but you also have many major re signings to deal with through the course of this contract and every one of them when asked to take a team friendly will just point at brobergs over pay and say, you must respect him a lot more then me or you wouldn't be asking me to take less. This is the biggest problem. Oilers can't afford negative working relationship with the other players…and what if broberg really stinks this year, it will make this situation even worse.

  10. The price tag is too high for Broberg for a cap strapped team, I don’t agree that he’s going to be a top 4 D man! Like others are saying he spent his career in the minors that doesn’t jump out as a top D man! The only thing with Holloway his age and speed perhaps another McLeod? Need to see what the kids do in pre season someone needs to challenge for a spot so you get cap space, I bet Perry will enjoy being around young guys and bus rides!

  11. Is it allowed to make a deal with a last placed team during the season (that has first choice on the waiver wire) ?
Whoever the last placed team is at different months of the season may offer more than a 3rd rock pick for Dylan Holloway to save their season. He could be tossed on waivers after an agreed transaction is approved.

  12. The oil just can’t sign more BS contracts. Broberg for 4.5M is just another Campbell, Brown, Nurse contract which will just end the same way, he hasn’t proved himself at all. Oh wow a few goals in the playoffs, let’s talk about the mistakes he made that resulted in a goal almost every time during the regular season. He’ll get this monster contract, play like shit all year and then we won’t be able to trade him for anything like what we signed him for. Cya. Holloway, If he can stay healthy, maybe. But he’s injury prone and will likely be out next season again too with a stupid injury. 6.5M worth of guys that the blues can have.

  13. The problem with signing them now then figuring it out is that teams will really stick it to them knowing that they absolutely have to do something or they will be over cap and I'm not sure what the penalty is for being over the cap but can't be good. And the idea that the Oilers are just all of the sudden going to win cups is amazing that people keep saying this.

  14. Let both of those young pups walk.

We ask for Connor and Leon to take a discount and then these little punks take the max they can get. I wouldn’t want them in the dressing room after this. LET THEM WALK!!

  15. Sry to say this because both players have great future potential, however if these player are so greedy to put themselves ahead of the team goal to be cup contenders I say let them go, both of them. We could maybe grab a PTO or look to our farm team. There's got to be options available! On the other hand I might be totally off and they need to match for 1 or both.

  16. Still think both should walk. You still have PTO options for forwards and there are NHL caliber defensemen on the market. Sign one cheap and you keep kulak and Ceci.
    Ekholm Bouchard
    Nurse Ceci
    Kulak right shot defensemen.
Also can look at Stetcher and Brown for the third pairing D spot.

  17. There’s no way we’ll be able to sign Draisaitl and Bouchard next season, I believe one must go, so that may become an option in the dilemma we’re in at the moment. Sad that we may lose both our young defensive prospects in probably less than a year away. Bouchard could fetch a first round pick now rather than have him walk as an RFA next summer and you could bring back Barrie on the PP. that would leave some cash to work with but not enough to sign Both Broberg and Holloway.
