It’s okay, the Devils also didn’t pick the best player in the draft.
Hischier rocks though.
Nolan will always be a big “What if?” because of injuries. Concussions are no joke and I wish him a happy life outside of hockey. Cale is easily the top player of this class though several players who have emerged as great players like Pettersson, Suzuki. Then of course Dallas not just hitting, but smashing it out of the park with Miro Heiskanen, Ottenger, Robertson. They got a future star D and goaltender, then Robertson defied expectations and become a key part of their team.
Lias Anderson…. Tripping over cables was his only highlight.

This one makes me sad
As a Devils fan I have zero regrets about Nico. I feel like people who don’t follow the team closely don’t see it, but he has so many intangibles. He is a great 2 way center, plays power play, kills penalties, goes against top lines, still produces points, he plays 100 percent every night. He’s their leader, the heart and soul of the team. They implode when he’s out of the line up, it’s like they don’t know what to do, that’s how important he is. No regrets.

Based on what I saw from Patrick in the two seasons before the migraine disorder became a factor, someone needs to give that scout a pretty significant demotion.
Patrick showed so much poise and skill in his rookie season, who knows how good he could’ve been… At the very least Frost is developing well in a top 6 role. Also Ratcliffe…honestly shocked he didn’t develop into at least a bottom 6 skater, there were games where he looked like he could’ve been a difference maker.

Heiskenan is a smooth skating can keep the flow going and ya seems like he does that seamlessly in the NHL.
Rasmussen could be a top line Center many scouts also see him as a 3rd line player
Yep sound about right always going for the guaranteed 3rd line guys.
And I know yzerman didn’t draft ras.

PO Joseph being a top prospect feels like a lifetime ago now
