Cool, we lost. Now win some free tickets! (Tuesday – 8/20)

Yeah, we lost today. That sucks.

So let’s change the narrative. Let’s inject some positivity! I’m giving away 2 tickets in Section 113 for this upcoming Tuesday since I now have to go to Chicago for work this week.

What is your favorite thing to happen so far this season? The response I deem best before I go to sleep tonight will get the tickets forwarded to them via MLB Ballpark App.

  1. the sweep against that team in the bronx. striking out judge in their house … my god it was beautiful :’)

  2. my favorite things this season are: the lopez glove toss, which was hilarious but also an initiating factor for the team meeting/grimace era, blowing the barves backs out in the early season on April 11, and winning one against the phils in the london series

  3. The OMG song definitely injected some positivity back in to the season. A lot of people had drawn a line through it in April and it was a depressing enough prospect for the summer. Best catching prospect in decades is injured and Diaz looked a low on confidence. We finally got a good run of bats together (Mark Vientos exit velocity finally showing up in the majors) and the whole mood changed for this season when the team were on the pitch singing under the lights

  4. Grimace throwing out the first pitch seemed to coincide with us righting the ship after a tough start to the season.

Something so random and silly has had staying power. I have seen people dressed up as grimace at the stadium and a coworker who now wears purple ties to work on eve of important games.

This team can really test your loyalty at times, but it’s always been “Ya gotta believe”

    Purple = Positivity

  5. Every time Iglesias runs out an infield hit!

And when Mr. Met took my son for a spin in his stroller. He was stoked and hasn’t stopped talking about it for the last 2 weeks.

  6. Jd Martinez walk off home run vs the marlins that started our amazing run this summer !

Thanks for the positivity and being awesome

  7. Vientos walkoff the first time he was up this year was epic. Especially the whole knowing it didn’t matter and that they were gonna send him down in a matter of days anyway.

Love that I haven’t heard about Brett “Judas” Baty since he finally lost the job.

  8. There’s plenty for this season but my favorite has to be the Diekman strikeout on Judge. I know he’s long gone, but the excitement I felt as soon as it happened made me so hyped up! Striking out the hottest hitter in baseball in that moment was so clutch!

  9. In terms of season-long developments, the Mark Vientos experience has been great, and I love that Francisco Lindor plays for my favorite team. Dedniel and Butto have been revelations out of the pen in an obviously tough season for that group, and the Reed Garrett Cy Young campaign in April was fun.

In terms of individual moments, an underrated one was Pete’s home run against the Tigers. I already had the day off and decided to go that doubleheader. Absolutely miserable experience for 17 innings sitting in the cold, wondering if this team would ever win an inning let alone a game, but that hit got the team back on track until the Alvy injury later that month. Thinking about other games I was at, the Nimmo walk-off against the Braves, the game when we shelled Cole at Citi against the Yankees, the OMG concert game against the Astros, and yesterday’s Severino start stand out.

  10. My favorite thing: i took my nephew to opening day this season. His first ever opening day! This little dude (8 years old) is the biggest Mets fan. He has a photographic memory for Mets stats, facts, rosters, etc.

My wife and I treated him to the game of his life lol. We bought him any food and treats he wanted and took him to one of the souvenir shops and told him he could get any one thing. He chose a hoodie because it was cold, but then he convinced my wife to buy him a monkey in a Mets jersey so his little brother wouldn’t feel too sad about not going to go.

On the way home, i encouraged other riders on the 7 to try to stump him with Mets questions. He only got one question wrong: he confused last year’s retired numbers with the year before.

He knew how many games the Mets won (or lost, really) in their first year. He knew the years for the WS wins. People were slack jawed at his Mets knowledge haha.

  11. Sevvys compete game was Deffinitly it! Combined with the lindor lead off HOMER it felt like how the Mets should be dealing with bad teams decisively in control the whole time! The crowd was amazin felt like a playoff crowd it had so much energy!

  12. My favorite thing is reading all of these AMAZING comments as I reminisce over what has been an exciting and emotional ride so far.
